The GeForce3 Elsa card uses 3.8ns DDR memory, the clock rate is 3.8ns per cycle or is that just the time between the clock edges.In theory of DDR memory. (double data rate) solutions double the bandwidth of the memory by
transfering data twice per cycle--on both the rising and falling edges of
the clock signal. The clock signal transitions from "0" to "1" and back to
"0" each cycle; the first is called the "rising edge" and the second the
"falling edge". Normally only one of these is used to trigger a data
transfer; with DDR SDRAM both are used.

Whats the question? Its just normal DDR memory.

Just have a simple question but for the access time would you suppose that the 3.8ns is the effective DDR Rate (one clock edge every 1.9 ns) or would it be more correct to guess that it would be 7.6 ns with a clock edge every 3.8ns?

it's most likely not that simple, though basically the 3.8ns is split into 2, so its KINDOF like halfing the ns rating and finding your mhz from that to get the effective throughput capabilities..

Memory timing is considered one complete square wave, which has 2 edges in the repored time unit.
