Geforce4 - MMX440 128mb vs ti4200 64mb

Im finally getting around to buying a flashy new pc only problem is the lame mmx440 graphics card (128mb). Im trying to work out whether it would be better to swap this for my existing ti4200 (64mb) or whther the extra memory on the mx card is worth keeping the inferior technology.....?

alternatively, is there any way i can transfer the memory off the new card to the older one?

any thoughts would be much appreciated

keep the ti4200 and stay around 1024*768

With an MX440?

Seriously, there is no comparison. The GF4MXs are actually GF2s.

Definately go with the GeForce4-Ti4200. It has 4 pixel pipelines with 2 texture units per pipeline and has Vertex and Pixel Shaders with full DirectX 8 support. The GeForce4 MX 4xx's are absolute garbage so stay away from them like they're the Plague!

Perhaps, though the GF4MX does have the memory optimizations of the Geforce4 Ti's. I don't know why they even bother coupling lots of memory with a chip that can't really process that much data though. Stick with the Ti4200.

I wouldnt go that far, I have a pci mx440 at the moment whilst my ti4200 is being fixed. In older games such as half life / counter strike the card is very good
