I don't think this card is worth it at all... The Geforce 4 is just an overclocked version of the Geforce 3.. and in the case of the MX.. a Geforce 2.....
If you look at that review.. the MX 440 gets absolutely smoked in almost every benchmark except for one. I also read that it will not have hardware for certain things like EBMP as on the review they said that 4 of the 16 benches on 3dmarks 2001 would not run.... Nature.. and 2 other....
I also like how ATI showed how Nvidia is renaming their products to make more money....
<< Umm yah, "blow geforce 3's outta the water" as in 340 fps compared to 300 fps in Quake 3? Maybe 12,000 3dmarks compared to 9,500? Well worth the extra $400!!!

Well usually small gains in performance on new cards can sometimes be attributed to the fact that the tests that were used cannot fully show the potential of the cards. I may be wrong, and only time will tell, if the high end geforce 4's have a lot of spare power couped up, or if they are truley only marginally better than the g3's.
Until we get some new more demanding games/tests... we can't acurately judge them...
Nope. the Gf4 has enough features to make it much better than the Gf3. Extra vertex shader, much better FSAA implementations and a much better implementation of the texture compression makes image quality look a lot better and it perform faster on the DX8.1 games which actually make use of the nFiniteFX. I still won't pay $399 for the 4600 rev but the 4200 looks pretty tempting since it still kicks butt all over the ti500 and the MSRP is only $20 above that of the MX460. I'm just chomping at the bit waiting for the pricing on the ti200/500's as well as the 4200.
Looks like back to the drawing board for ATI again. If only those retards could fix their drivers performance ...
If it contains all the benefits of the GF3(I mean the hardware advancement, not clock speeds) then this is basically the GF3 MX..am I wrong?(but they didn't call it that did they?) Marketing Scheme..
Go to TomsHardware.com or Anandtech.com (you know, the site that hosts this forum?) for the low-down on the new GeForce 4 lineup. Yes, they even have comprehensive benhmarks, so all your questions will be answered.
The geforce4 mx aren't really geforce4 like you would expect. They don't have vertex and pixel shaders like the geforce4 and geforce3, and they only have two rendering pipelines. These mx cards are based on geforce2 technology, but they have been sped up some. These cards won't be able to compete with a geforce3 ti200 I don't think...
The geforce4 titantium cards are a totally new architechure with Z-occlusion culling that will let the geforce4 not draw objects that arent going to be visable...
overall the geforce4 looks nice but the geforce3 is still very fast
Man, I know the changes in this card from geforce 3(or even geforce 2) is not too great because
overclocking can substantially cover that ground.
I'd wait for next generation of nvidia cards.
How much is it all together for it I'd like it to be in my computer it'd be sweet but it probably costs alot all total so someone please how much it is all together for it?

uh.. $122 + $6.95 shipping + sales tax if in CA. wasnt too hard was it?
The GeForce 4 MX series are souped up GeForce 2's. Plain and simple. Unless you buy a GeForce 4 Titanium card, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, JUST BUY A GF3Ti200 for 150 bucks.

exactly right. If you are going to play games, the geforce4MX is just not worth it.
Anyone have any suggestions regarding this card compared to others in the same price range? Anyone have alternative recommendations?? I want to stay around $100-125, but I'm not sure how this one compares to others.... Any advice is greatly appreciated. And thanks for the deals JBark!
Personally I think its pretty lame of Nvidia to be making a MX Geforce4 card that is actually worse than a Geforce3 card. I own the GeForce3 Ti200 card myself, so its not like I have something against Nvidia.
