Gen. Wesley Clark's Memorial Day statement

Just heard it on C-SPAN Radio. Excellent address from Gen. Clark. Brought up the points of giving every penny asked by veterans groups and to fully fund the Veterans Administration.

He closed with this:

This Memorial Day, the country will come together to honor those veterans who fell from the line, making the ultimate sacrifice for our country, those who fought and came home sadder and wiser, and those who were left behind. We are not just the beneficiaries of their bravery.

We are the stewards of their sacrifice.

Soooooooo, Wes spoke at Cornell's convocation this weekend. Actually, his speech was pretty good for about 10 minutes, when all of a sudden he slipped into a stock campaign speech for about 5 minutes. Then he somewhat recovered, and sort of made a point, but it's pretty clear he forgot that he was addressing a graduating class and not a political rally.

Anyways, I got the very strong impression he doesn't consider himself out of politics yet. I might float the possiblity of him running as Hillary's Veep in 2008. The Arkansas military veep to balance the northeastern liberal political insider.

I wouldn't mind voting for either one of them. Da loser is absolutely right though, there is no way they could make it out of their partys' primaries as moderates.
