I do not know if this kid has already been discussed here, but now his mom has filed suit against South Carolina DMV.
Little background, teenage boy likes to dress up in girls clothing. Went to take picture for drivers license dressed as girl, was told he was going to have to dress like a boy and with no makeup.
Mom is mad and has sued the South Carolina DMV.

Notice how in a lot of these cases there is rarely any mention of the father?
Part of the claim is the teen is entitled to freedom of expression. I am not sure cross dressing for an official government document is freedom of expression.

Was a teenager’s makeup a “disguise,” or an expression of personal freedom stifled by the government?
That’s the question a lawsuit filed Tuesday aims to settle.
Chase Culpepper, 16, was born into a male body, but he considers himself “gender non-conforming” and lives much of his life in women’s clothing and makeup (although he still reportedly prefers male pronouns).
