Did they do anything about the need for octuplet SLI to output that many pixels at 90hz?
the main issue is the lack of support for the aspect ratio. no amount of software scaling will overcome developers not supporting the output natively. with the samsung odyssey being higher res and width, there is a better chance of devs supporting variable video output or at least non rift/vive res.
[the biggest caveat i can see is heat. strobbed lcd backlight still seems like it will generate way more heat than oled. without active cooling it could severely shorten playtime or comfort. tho heated lenses are one way to minimize fogging]

OK... I finally tried an Oculus Rift.
It didn't fit over glasses. It didn't look very sharp at all and was a big screen door screen.
But I could see how it could be some fun.
It's on sale at Best Buy this weekend for $349... hm... get it or wait for 2.0...
My Vive doesn't fit over my glasses either. I should really get some custom VR lenses to match my prescription, but I have family & friends who use it too, so I haven't bothered yet.
That's my biggest complaint, I think, about my Vive (current VR in general?). Right in front of my eyes it's great but peripheral vision is kinda blurry; it really hurts the experience/immersion. I think I could adjust my headset a bit more so it fits tighter and closer to my face and this should help some (I notice if I push up the headset a tad and hold it on my head the picture becomes clearer) but the blurriness will still be there. Overall though I do think it's pretty awesome.I have them, and they do work. Also, they're really not that hard to take off if you need to, but it does look odd, because the piece isn't shaped the same as the glasses. However, they seem to fit?
Albeit, nothing will fix how text is unreadable outside of the "sweet spot".
Once you set up all your sensors and controllers and then go through the initial tutorial the free games should just appear in your account library. I am not sure if there was a limited time that they were giving the free games out.Guys, so I bought Oculus Rift w/ 2 Touch Controllers and Free Eve Valkyrie game from Best Buy. I never got to redeem the emailed code to download Eve Valkyrie and the email said expires August 2017. Am I out of luck here or can i still possibly redeem it?
Also, is it true Robo Recall comes with all Touch Controller purchases? I got the bundle deal that came with the Touch Controller kit, so wondering how you get Robo Recall for free.

Mother scratcher. I guess it's already expired; SUPERHOT is $25 on the Oculus Store right now. Dangit. I saw it featured recently on TheMightyJingles' channel on YouTube and it looked pretty good. The Oculus store is having "A Year of Touch" anniversary flash sale. Superhot VR is $10, plus a bunch of other deals.
Downloaded Fallout 4 VR last night but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Anybody try it? I'm leaving work early today to run a few errands so I should have a couple of hours to play.
I've not been using my Vive nearly as much as I had thought I would. Hopefully Fallout is the game that motivates me to use it. I already have 170-ish hours in the 2D version but I still like the setting and story.
