I did a search and found a thread about Brokaw's interview with Kerry, but not one about his interview with our President.

Here is the transcript for the interview.

There was nothing spectacular about the interview; he gives pretty much the answers you would expect. However, I am really starting to pick out a commonality in many of Bush's interviews. He often times becomes noticeably defensive when he faces tough questions. In general, I don't think he does too well under fire.

Sorry in advance if this is a repost.

Edit: Sorry, the story at the link I originally supplied changed. I can't seem to find a page linking to the video anymore, so if anybody can find it, please link to it in their post, since Bush's tone isn't very apparent in the transcript. In the meantime, anybody who wants to view it simply needs to open up the MSN Video window from MSNBC and find it under News->Decision 2004->Bush's day (as labeled under an icon of Bush's face with some flags to his left).

Guess that's why he failed it so wildly on 9/11... Kept reading even though America was under attack.

Correct you link dude. It takes you to "This page cannot be displayed".

Anyway, NBC edited the kerry interviewNBC Edit Out Kerry's Admission on Military Records:
There is no question that a key line got edited out. Here is the original exchange as it appeared on MSNBC:

Brokaw: Someone has analyzed the President's military aptitude tests and yours, and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do.

Kerry: That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it, because my record is not public. So I don't know where you're getting that from.

And here is how the exchange was shown on the much more heavily-watched Dateline:

"Someone has analyzed the president's military aptitude tests and yours, and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do."

Kerry: "That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it."

This was a lame interview. He should have asked why kerry is not willing to release his military records and whether he considers the death of american soldiers in Iraq is worth it (kerry said that the death of american soldiers is worth it only if it is under the UN).But again, NBC, with the UN Annan, ElBaradei Plan to Ambush Bush and Osama Bin Laden Osama Bin Laden Tape Threatens U.S. States Not to Vote for Bush supports kerry. So questions like that will never be asked of kerry. The media never challenged kerry because to do so would mean discovering that they were wrong about him.

Well, for starters, he could have immediately convened a meeting of his closest advisors. Bush is an incompetent failure and will hopefully be replaced tomorrow by someone less incompetent.

Bush seemed stunned at some of the questions, lashing back with calling Brokaw a "Monday morning quarterback" and completely avoiding other questions. It was embarrassing watching Bush on the defensive when all he had to do was answer the damn questions.

I thought all you ilbes said he made his records avaliable. Doesn't the music from that song echoe frequently through these hallowed halls? Here, evern Kerry admits that he is keeping secrets from his adoring public.

Yeah, good post. Bin Laden voted early. Most early voters vote for Kerry.

It is a fact that under attack, the law is that certain leaders are hidden away until it is considered safe for them to appear again. Bush probably had to fight his keepers to do as he did. Look up "Doomsday Machine"!

Spreading freedom around the world is working...blah blah blah...yeah...let's kill them all to spread freedom.

If you want to see religious pandering, look no further than John Kerry. Here's a man who avoided it like the plague, at least until he saw Bush receiving support for it.

Hey, kinda like the war!

The video is near the top right of the article. I think you have to be using Internet Explorer to watch the clip.

Not a repost.

Comparing this to the Kerry interview, Bush took the tough questions and ran and hid and lashed back at Brokaw. Kerry took them in stride and answered them smoothly. Bush just doesn't like to be confronted. He's been coddled for four years by scripted Cabinet meetings, surrounded by yes-men, and had campaign rallies filled with loyalty-oath-signing sheep. He panics when faced with true debate.

Unless an interview is 100% Live and in the present here and now, you have to assume that the interviewers producer has definitely edited it before it was broadcast. What is not included in the Broadcast is sometimes quite important. A good interviewer can make a person look good or bad. What a news agency or show chooses to broadcast is usually a direcet result of the political views.

I dont know any news agencies that are really interested in fair and balanced news.

Bush doesn't handle tough questions well... this is true. However, I'm seeing Kerry become less and less graceful as time goes on. It's getting to the point where he actually looks offended at some of the questions.

Both candidates appear to be getting worse at handling these questions. Honestly, conjur, many people don't think Kerry handled the Brokaw interview as well as you think he did. I know you just chalk that up to them being Bush supporters, but the truth is, it was not a good interview for him. Why? Well, just like Bush is used to being coddled by his cabinet, Kerry is used to being coddled by the media. The tough questions he faced in the Brokaw interview was unchartered territory for him.

I was actually pretty surprised at the tough questions that Brokaw asked in both interviews. Is he always that tough of an interviewer?

Wasn't it Kerry who spoke Yiddish in front of a crowd of Jews? Talk about pandering!

Everyone that I know who is Catholic is voting for Bush.
