Britney spears for person of the year.

For creating beautiful music and being a role model for millions of youth today. She gives children hope and someone to look upto.

Good grief he hasn't even been president yet.....and he's Person of the Year?

I'd have waited at least until he had been president for awhile.....Wait and see what he accomplishes, before you name him Person of the Year.....

I would have voted for that jerk Tom Connolly, the guy who broke the dwi story. Without a doubt his discloser of Bush's arrest caused the biggest news story of the year. Bush would have won on election night, but for that.

Time picks the guy who had the biggest impact, not the 'best' man. Their selections have included Hitler, Stalin and Kohmeni. Without a doubt, GW has had the biggest impact of any single person in the last year. Just look at all the country has gone through with him in the news...

I'm not so certain that the future with Bush as president means to break out the shades, but I agree with thte selection.

What about Vojislav Kostunica? The end of the last dictatorship in Europe? For Christ's sake, don't you think that's a little more important than ol' Dubya?

<< Time picks the guy who had the biggest impact >>

If that's true, exactly what impact has he had in 2000. He was governor of Texas, and was elected president. But, as president, he hasn't had ANY impact yet.

Perhaps he will.....but he hasn't yet...

You can't trust Time. They're affiliated with CNN, and both are rediciously left-wing media companies. They're so biased in favor of Democrats - most of them vote Democrat in the election

oh wait, they're favoring Bush now, so now it's okay to listen to them. However, if Gore was Person of the Year, then things would be different (couldn't trust them)...

I agree, Vojislav Kostunica SHOULD have been person of the year. He did a whole lot more than Dubya, had and will continue to have a greater impact. But NO...American-centric Time could not even think about choosing someone outside their own country's borders. Sad...

Thats stupid, I mean what has Bush done this year? got voted president by 6 people. Oh biggy, I mean before the elections he was just the average govenor killing every criminal he could get his hands on. Then he became a president candidate who could hardly speak. Then he became president after 6 people choose him.

I´m not saying Gore is any better, I´m just saying for gods sake find someone with half a brain.

It should have been persona non grata of the year.

Was it Time magazine, or the the Guinness Book of World Record Thefts?

<<oh wait, they're favoring Bush now>>

As usual you dolt, you're missing the point. By making someone "man of the year" or "woman of the year", they are not favoring that person or making a judgement as to whether the person is "good" or not. They are simply saying that person had an impact, and was in the news quite a bit. They evan had Hitler as man of the year, which should tell you that being 'man of the year' is clearly not meant to be an endorsement....

I personally don't really see how Bush was more pervasive in the news or made more of an impact than many other people, I could think of quite a few people that fit the bill better.

The electoral college should have won; but if we got rid of it, educated citizens would be the ones making decisions. Sorry to say it, but I dont like having states who were *forced* to stop discrimination and segregation in 1964 decide on our president. After the civil war we should have ostracized the democratic southern states and let them fend for themselves. Federalism is what rebuilt the south, and GW Bush is what we get in return...
