The only reason you open carry is to intimidate. Period.
If you're concerned about your safety, conceal carry.
Now that I think about it this is pretty amusing. I think under current Supreme Court jurisprudence in the movie Tombstone Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, etc. are the bad guys - attempting to unconstitutionally confiscate the arms of the Cowboys.
That sounds very different from wearing body armor and carrying multiple guns, doesn't that seem a bit more threating than a guy with a rifle in a case?I’d just leave the store. If it was a mall, I’d call the 911 or grab a security guard. Target rich environment. But this is NH. Open carry is normal, especially as one goes further north. Most hunters toss their rifles in a carrying case and toss it crossways over their shoulder. I feel like I should give them some kind of reward for going the extra mile.
Guess I misread it. Yeah, I would still walk out of the store, get far away and call 911. At the very least, this guy would need a good talking to by the police. Depending on the laws of the state in question - he may be within his legal right. Scalia's interpretation of 2A went too far - so we are still stuck with that. That sounds very different from wearing body armor and carrying multiple guns, doesn't that seem a bit more threating than a guy with a rifle in a case?
Tamir Rice and Jordan Crawford were killed by police just for carrying when call came in black man waving gun at people. In both cases that wasn't true. When the calls came in for Marley don't know if police were told he was black. I will checkThe guy is black.
I think he was homeless so he likely didn't have money for bail.He was arrested despite not violating any laws. He was held in jail for 10 months.
Let that sink in.
Committed no crime and held in lock up for 10 months.
Does anyone have a follow-up with details?
What happened after they released him? I see some commentary that when they released them, they immediately filed new misdemeanor charges against him and locked him up again. Does anyone know his current status?

Let this sink in, he was arrested for doing something legal and spent 10 months in jail for which he was finally exonerated.
This is how fucked up open carry is.
FYI - In Texas sex toys are regulated yet they have unrestricted open carry.

It is a shamanistic concept. It's what gives you focus about what are you doing with your life and that gives you power to act.I have heard it suggested that a constant awareness of death makes life worth living.
Yea.The individual who reported Marley to the Publix manager told police that "he heard clicking sounds from the bathroom stall" in the store and that "it sounded to him like someone was loading firearms," according to the incident report.
I'd come up from behind and kick him in the dick, then steal all of his worthless guns.Man walks into Atlanta store open carrying a loaded AR-15, shotgun, 4 handguns and body amour. Should the police be called? Would you call the police?
Open carry is legal in Georgia. All weapons are legal
Rico Marley charged after allegedly entering Atlanta Publix with six loaded guns and body armor - CBS News
That is next battle ground for these nutters. Businesses in Oklahoma already can't ban guns from their parking lots. I think some of our idiot legislators introduced a bill last year to make it illegal for businesses to disallow carrying in their buildings.
This happened 2 years ago.
What happened to him?
edit
Marley was arrested without incident and booked on 11 felonies, and he was held without bail after a judge ruled that he was a threat to the public.
Then, 10 months later, the charges were dropped because—under Georgia gun laws, which have become increasingly lenient in recent years—there’s nothing felonious about carrying loaded guns and wearing body armor in public.
My viewpoint FWIW is that private property rights trump the 2a and that it is completely unreasonable to deny a property owner their right to control how their property is protected.
The open carry advocates seem to be of the opinion that their 2a trumps private property rights and they have the right to appoint themselves defenders of other peoples' properties, both of which are bullshit.
I'm a gun owner myself, and support the 2a, but disrepecting others' property because you fancy yourself a hero is delusional and an infringement on the rights of others.
Question: Would you have been penalized if you shot the guy in the face? I mean you would be scared for your life if you turned around and saw this dude right?
Poll needs a 3rd option for "wouldn't be caught dead in Atlanta so not gonna happen". (voted "would call")
Why not? I have lived in ATL proper for decades and currently live a few miles from downtown. It's a great city, full of diversity and just as safe as any other city

Captante is convinced it is an urban hellscape.
Personally, I am convinced Captante lives in a hellscape somewhere. He has an obsession with being armed, which clearly indicates where ever he lives is an extremely dangerous environment. We know for one thing it has armed people wandering around it ...
