<< Not a perfect victory to be sure, but a modicum of justice has prevailed. Thank God for David and his family that the nightmarish prospect of prison is over. He and his wife hung tough, kept their chins up and their chests out through it all, and can now begin the process of rebuilding. The saddest thing is that this never should have happened in the first place.

Exactly my feeling Russ!
So basically, because there will be no record, felony or misdemeanor, they recognize he is innocent. But to save "face" and their egos, they slap him with community time and a fine. As if they hadn't done enough. Sheesh. :|
It would have been nice to take them to trial and go for the jugular and a complete win, but, considering the legal fees of a trial, I would probably have accepted the plea agreement too.
Even though David and Donna face some struggles as they work to put this nightmare behind them and pay off the lawyer debts, it must be a BIG burden lifted from their shoulders now and they can focus on the future and better times ahead. I'm sitting here teary eyed, so glad it is over, and I was barely involved. They must be overjoyed!
Thanks! to ALL who helped the McOwens with their donations, their work on getting the word out, the letters written, the ideas to help, the Power Pot auction, the prayers & support!
You know, with all of the nastiness happening in the world, you begin to wonder about things, but every once in awhile you get a chance to get a glimpse of something amazing, something wonderful, something called Compassion, Caring, and Unconditional Love. I have gotten a glimpse of this compassion in the hearts of everyone who did what they could to help the McOwens! WoW!
I gotta go find some tissues now......
