Frickin' Frack:
Here's another chat transcript... I think MSN is just totally clueless, but we're going to have to figure this out... This deal is totally FUBAR...
John: Hello Dan, how may I help you today?
Dan: Hi John... I was looking at the MSN Holiday Bonus page, and I noticed that Dell4Me is no longer listed. Am I to believe that they are no longer participating in this promotion, and if so, when did their participation in the promotion cease?
John: That's correct. Dell ended their part in the promotion earlier this week.
Dan: Hang on a second. I placed an order via the MSN link on the page earlier today. Nowhere did it say that the promotion had ended. In fact, it said that it ended December 20th. Am I to understand that I won't receive the rebate?
John: The MSN Holiday Bonus promotion runs through December 19. However, each individual merchant reserves the right to end their participation at any time. Here are the terms and conditions.
I have just pushed you a page
Dan: OK, but shouldn't they have removed the page BEFORE ending their part in the promotion? If I don't receive this rebate I am going to raise hell. How was I supposed to know that it ended early when I placed the order?
John: To check and see if your purchase qualified for the promotion, check directly with Dell using the following link.
Dan: I want to know an exact date that their participation in this promotion ended.
I have just pushed you a page
John: One moment please.
Dan: "Offer good only for online system purchases made through Dell Home Systems between November 17 and December 20, 2000, for customers who came to Dell.com through a link on the MSN network and used their Microsoft Passport Wallet data in Dell?s checkout process."
Dan: That is what I saw when I placed the order.
John: I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't have the exact date when Dell ended their participation in the MSN Holiday Bonus. Please check with them directly at the above link.
Dan: Thanks.
