Last week I had a power outage which resulted in my PSU dying. I RMAed my PSU and installed the new one. I think I have installed all the cables correctly, but maybe not.
Now when I try to boot up with my new PSU installed, my monitor always displays "no signal". But the system seems to be booting aside from the fact that I get no signal in the monitor and thus can't see anything on the display.
My PSU is the OCZ GameXStream 700W.
My motherboard is an Asus P5W DH Deluxe.
I have tried installing the PCI-E card from my backup computer (the one I'm using now in my backup computer to make this post; so the card definitely works) into my main computer, and that too always gets no signal when it is in my main computer.
I noticed that in my main computer I still have cables from my PSU labelled "PCI-E1" amd "PCI-E2" which are not connected. But I have read the P5W DH Deluxe manual several times and I cannot figure out anywhere on the motherboard in which I may plug either of these cables. The manual says absolutely nothing about this. The connectors on these cables are farily bulky and have holes in them for 6 pins which are spread fairly wide apart.
If I take my computer to the local technician shop they would charge me their minimum chage of $79 plus tax. I'd hate to have to pay that out if all they need to do is plug in one of these cables properly.
If this cable is my problem then please tell me exactly where on the P5W DH Deluxe motherboard that this cable plugs into?
If this cable is not my problem and I don't need the PCI-E PSU cables plugged into this mobo, then what else might my problem be and how else can I fix it?
It is definitely not a problem with the monitor or monitor cables as I am using them both right now from my backup computer to make this post.
Please advise on how I can resolve this issue.
