I don't know if this is the place to go with this question, but i'm hoping that if y'all can't help somebody could point me in the right direction....
my situation is. I work at a school and the just cracked down on the internet. used to be a proxy setting that i could turn off, now it's by ip? certain links are blocked. if i try to go to certain freeware sites, i'm redirected to a "this page is classified as blah"
Also AIM/any other 3rd party aim applications are blocked.
when i try and get to my home computer which i have setup using windows remote desktop web connection i get a "this page cannot be displayed" that is my set up off my home computer with the default website port 86
I would like to try and get around any or all of these. not because i want to view anything bad, but i have free time and would like to be able to grab files from home or talk to some people. also i'm hoping to learn as much as possible. I downloaded ethereal and tried looking at that, but honestly, I'm not that experienced and much of it looks like gobblygook to me. So If you can provide help or point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
