Get cat5 cable connection to receiver

Guys, noob at wireless / networking here. I have wifi set up in my 2 floor house. The modem and main router is on the 2nd floor. I am currently just using my computer / laptop / tablet / phone downstairs with wifi and its fine.

My dilemma is that i have an AV Receiver on the 1st floor with a LAN cable connection to get it online to stream pandora. What is the best way to do this?

If running Cat5 cable downstairs is not an option, then what you are looking for is an Wifi bridge. Basically the opposite of an access point, it is an ethernet switch that connects to a wifi network.

I've heard that bridges work best when they match the brand of the router/AP you are using. I had OK success using a Dlink Bridge with my Dlink routher, but ended up just running a cable due to slow transfer speeds.

One other option would be a powerline network connection, which might work very well for you.

Running a cable is definitely not an option, i would need about 3000 ft of cable to do that. Can you link me to the type of products that i'd need to get for this (bridge , powerline)?

christ, how big is your house if you need over a half mile of cat5 to go from your first floor to your second?

Powerline network transmits ethernet signals over the houses existing electrical wiring. Here's a bunch of adaptors on newegg, but i havent done much research into which ones are the best:

As for Bridges, most wifi range extenders will function the same way, so somthing like this:
