Why in the name of all that is bad and ugly would the Oil&Gas companies resist this?

<Conspiracy Theory Mode>
The Oil&Gas companies would try to set up millions of these somewhere and produce tons of free electricity to the country. They sell the electricity at the same price the elctro companies do now, only it costs them nothing to produce it. The Oil&Gas cos become even richer than they already are. They can fire half their employees since they don't need to drill or extract fossil fuels, all they need is a few accountants, and a president to make piles of money.
</Conspiracy Theory Mode>

Do you have any idea even remotely what it costs to extract oil from the ground? If the Oil cos could produce free electricity and sell that bypassing the electric cos, they would jump on it in a second.
There's your conspiracy.

As to the lock, Besides glaring stupidity I see nothing wrong with this thread. There is no reason to lock it. But then I'm not a mod.

This type of invention violates both the first and second laws of thermodynamics...

I've seen inventions like this (and the other described by RussianSoldier made by Adam WhatsHisName). While some of them do actually work, there is typically another source of energy that isn't being accounted for.

Also, in all honesty, if this sort of invention did exist, it would have been surpressed by both oil companies and the government, or the idea would have been bought by the oil companies. Either way, this is a scam (straight up). You all think energy prices are high now... wait another 50 years and see what happens. Our addiction to petroleum and fossil fuel could be our undoing unless we develop alternative sources of energy that AREN'T surpressed by big oil. However, if big oil is smart (and they are) they are already buying into alternative power industries. When the public needs the alternative power the most, they will unvail it, and charge that much more.

*sigh... sometimes I worry too much*

Big Oil doesn't consider themselves oil companies. They consider themselves energy suppliers. Given the choice they would dump oil in a heartbeat for an energy source that wasn't linked to geo-political politics. Frankly I think if you crunch the numbers the combined spending of Big oil in Solar and other renewables R&D research is probably higher than that of the US government.

No thanks!

I am not going to be the first to hop onto a "deal" (especially a suspicious one).

If - by any chance (incredibly remote as it may be) - this proved to be true (and without health side-effects); I'd be more than glad to PAY $1000 (or more) after it was PROVEN.

EDIT: In the meantime, I am still looking into solar panels for my hi-desert home. It's about $12K for a small installation (with half subsidized by CA's PUC) - that's about as close to "free" electricity as I can get (I did get a 18% reduction - so far - in my electricity usage by switching to CF lights and a/c to water (swamp) cooling).

2nd EDIT: Yes, Tesla was a genius and many of his discoveries are only being appreciated and explored now,

Ha, this is the dumbest idea ever presented on these pages. This Hummingbird generator was shown on a different web site a couple of months ago. When you read the company's charter it stated that they were actually a church and that God provided all of their new ideas. So who ever "signs up" for this generator is really donating to some wacko church, Praise the Lord, LOL.

I'd take advantage of this opportunity, but i live at a commercial residence, so i wouldn't be eligible.

No one would go this far to sell something that they have no interest in. Come out with it, what are you in for, you have some penny shares or something? And yes this probably would have been locked along time ago if it wasn't so amusing. Hot Deals like this o) belong in the Hot Deals section (where it would have probably been rightfully locked.)

Really, come clean please and tell us since its obvious no one is interested. We don't know who you are so why not fill in the blanks?

LMAO! Is that what you think? You still think that i work for UCS and am trying to get you to buy this?

I simply ran across it while looking through some of Nikola Tesla's Patents. Read through some of it, and posted it, much like this ammusing flash file, which can be found at:

http://www.geocities.com/phisheadrew/Swirve.html

But mabey i should see if they'll pay me...

I sent them the $5.95 and another $100 just as an appriciation for inventing this great product. I also bought 1000 videos so I could distribute them around to my friends and family, even my co-workers.

I'm thinking about getting on of those welders too, they looked like they might work, and hey I can afford $10000 for a welder.

That's because he didn't use the enter key.

As for 17,00KWh, this can be expressed as 17MWh.
My parents in Jan 2001, had a 3600KWh electric bill for Dec, this can be expressed as 3.6MWh.
Sometime in May or June, they used 2400KWh (2.4MWh), so on average, 2.5MWh per month x 12 = 30MWh (ot 30,000KWh)
This does look like a scam.

That is a pretty funny link, Shy. What is the average age of the members at Earth 2025 - 15?

Here's what they're saying about us now:

<<Oh the fools at Anandtech...

Aug 18th 2:31 PM
I'm over there trying to discuss methods of energy that are over 100% efficient, and well, they make me laugh! They still think Edison is the father of AC!
Troglodite
Member Aug 18th 2:32 PM
100% efficient? dont they know anything about the carnot heat engine?

why stop at a 100% why not 110%....
Thargok333
Member Aug 18th 2:34 PM
Edison hated AC he hated it so bad, that he made the electric chair. Little did he know his plan backfired.
Russian Soldier

lol tharg...

i said over trog, they just make me laugh, they're too into TODAY's technology. I told them they're like scientists back when the Wright Brothers were trying to fly...

"Hahaha! You'll never fly! Flying is impossible!"

todays scientists:

"Hahaha! You'll never invent something that is over 100% efficient! It's impossible!"
Thargok333

It is true!
Russian Soldier

yes, he was trying to show how dangerous AC current was by electrocuting small animals
Russian Soldier

But later tesla showed how safe it was by running large ammounts of current through him into a light bulb, and he also used a type of tesla coil to make big bolts of lightning jump and hit people in the croud, with no injury...
