Manifold and Turbine Housing Thermal Coatings $135.00
Manual Boost Controller $75.00
Monkey Wrench Racing Stage 4 Fully built race engine - $7000(1zzfe)
Darton Sleeves - Toyota 1ZZ-FE($339)
The charge to install this engine in your car at MWR is $650.
(has all studs/big bore pistons/MWR upgraded valve springs and stainless valves/ full port job/stroked/sleeved)(82mm bore, stroked and then sleeved for strength=almost 2.1-2.2L from 1.8l originally.)
add a little bit of tuning form the turbo and you'll easily hit 260/270hp maybe 300hp is possible.
=$25067 plus a whatever it costs to install the turbo it foy cant do it yourself.(probably around 700 in labor)
oh yeah, you'll need a roll cage, 5 point harness, seats, to meet track regulations.
then, you'll need a new clutch since stock would survive maybe 1 launch at that power.
then you might want TRD short throw shifter to get faster shifts and thus lower 1/4 mile times. then you'll want a 6spd manual tranny from the 2zzge so yuo dont get hampered by the close gearing of the 5 spd. and yuo'll also want a custom ecu programmer. it shoudl cost around 30k total.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA 30k for 260/270hp.............. You can have a HELL OF A LOT more HP in a 5.0 Mustang for 30k. OMG What a waste. You can have that with just a few bolt ones, and be underr 5k TOTAL. LMFAO
wow you must be stupid. do you not comprehend physics or what? the lower your weight, even at similar pw/wt ratios, the faster it will go.
case in point.
the Lotus Elise weighs in at 1980lbs. it has 190hp. 0-60 at 4.3 10/1 lb/hp ratio
The Chevrolet corvetts weighs more than 3000 lbs. it has 400hp. 0-60 in 4.3 7.6 or so lb/hp ratio
therefore, at 300hp which is easily attaniable through tuning, the mr2(around 2200lbs with roll cage installed and full size spare tire removed) would hit 0-60 in the 3.5-3.9 range and do the 1/4 mile in very high 10s/low 11s@120mph or so. with the correct gearing/driving/shifts.
not to mention, it would whip you mustang's a55 in any course with curves also.
First about the Curves. Where talking about STRAIGHT LINE HERE!
A mustang can be got down to Aprox. 2700-2800 Lbs. And still be street legal. you can get a 514BB for 8k, and superchage it, the 514 puts out 625 N/A, and still be coming out cheaper than your mr2.
so your talking about the FOX platform mustangs? wow. Hey it's a 2002 model running off a 1978 StangII chasis.. yay. i think ill buy that. Handles like sh!t. probably wont hold up too well under the power.
2800+150 for a roll cage.
2950+150 for BIG BLOCK
explain me this, how do you plan to put a BB on a ford?
Ford does not sell BBs only their Cobra 5.6L V8 or something.
This requires a FULL frame off rebuild,hundreds-thousands of hours of work if you are not a professional.
lets see what we need.(probably more i forgot aobut)
1 BB(chevy or mopar choose chevy)
1 Tranny (6spd richmond GM compatible)
1 custom driveshaft
1 custom axle
1 distributor
1 coil
1 water pump
1 high flow fuel pump
1 custom exhaust
1 supercharger
1 custom fabricated exhaust
1 custom fabricated intake
1 Carb
2 Headers
1 Intake Manifold
1 Custom Hood
1 clutch 11" 26spline
2 catalyc convertors
1 radiator kit
1 tranny oil cooler
1 intercooler kit
2 engine oil cooler
1 rollcage
2 sport/racing seats
2 5 or 6 point harnesses
many guages
dont forget the studs/pilot bushings/mounts and crap that need to come with these.
I gurantee you with labor it wont be under 60k-100k(depending on quality and amount of work) and without it it wont be under 40k-50k before it's anywhere near street legal or even drivable.(assuming your car costs around 8-10k so it is in good shape to be modded and have this much power put through)
and even then you wont have AC, youll have to do a lot of custom modification to EVERYTHING to make things fit and then, there is no gurantee it'll be fun to drive. There will be unbeliavable torque steer without many more hours of work.
btw you dont understand the question do you. It's not hp, it's the final result. no matter what you bring to the table, hp wise, if your opponent wins the race you still have nothing to say.
