are you doing this on the phone or instore? I'm gonna give it a shot tomorrow and then if that doesn't work, I'm gonna try to pull the contract deal on them

A. No, this price increase is not considered a change in the terms of service and does NOT qualify customers to terminate their contracts without paying the appropriate fees.

If you get a rep that lets you out, consider yourself lucky.

That is a load of bull. By their logic, they can charge you $300 for a text message and it wouldn't be a breach of contractual terms.

How did you get teh free phones?....I was just at the Verizon store and tehye wouldn't give me sh*t for free.....Ridiculous for this time of season, IMO.

Steve235 - I did it over the phone...hit 0 to talkto customer service, then hit 4 to talk to retension...that will save you 5 minutes right there. =)

Hmmm I kind of like my Cingular service but I also like the idea of not having my 2 year contract hanging over my head. I'll give it a try, though I have a media bundle already.

Maybe I'll pull the contract one.

didn't go to a verizon store. i usually buy my phones from the cell phone shops in chinatown where they give great deals compared to corporate stores.

See I have a 19% off my Verizon bill thingy through my work...and I have been told that if you goto one of those cell phone kiosks that they aren't able to add that to my bills...Plus I get free accessories included with any phone purchase(car charger, home charger, leather case, and headset) And pretty much all the phones are $49.99 even the razor. So I think I might just go to the actual Verizon store and just do that.....

Well I called last night and I am now able to cancel all four lines and have the ETF waived even though I have 19 months left on my contracts.

Will be going to Sprint or Verizon

Just need to find another good plan

Right now I am paying about 120 a month for 4 lines 1400 anytime 2 lines have 1000 txt

That's the exact plan I have! ....and I mean EXACT. LOL

I'm not looking to get out, I just signed up 2 months ago. It's a lot better deal than what I had, no problems with Cingular here.

Crap I'm paying $110/month for two lines, 800 minutes, and no text messaging. Is that the normal price now for 1400 minutes with text and four lines? I signed up about a year and a half ago and haven't checked for a better deal.

Cingular wouldn't let my one of my other lines out of my contract, arguing that this is a feature. It's bull. I filed a complaint with the FCC.

I told him I wanted to cancel due to a few issues. Then he asked for want. I told him due to the raise in prices of the txt msgs from 10 to 15 cents. All he said was ok, you want to cancel now or put a note to have the EFT waived after your numbers are ported. So I picked the note so I can keep all four of my same numbers

Will call back tonight to make sure it is noted on there

My 2 year contract is suppose to end in April or May.. but Wouldn't mind switching over to a different provider.

It's getting tough now, this has turned into a YMMV. Most of these reps and supervisors are calling it a feature now.

As stated earlier you cannot disable incoming message and cingular sends them out for offers to signup for txt msging
If they dont do it, then it is a breach of contract.

There is also the option of having them produce your signed contract as stated above too.

Lastly if non of that works for you file a complaint with the BBB and that will for sure get it taken care of
