Hmm, if their burritos are any good it might just be a good deal paying $7 for one.

I could finish one but not two, so $7 for 10 lbs of burritos is a hot deal.

no you stfu.

i just saw that stupid comment up there about mexican food=oxymoron, so i decided to clear things up, that maybe most of what you people "think" is mexican food, is just a bastardized american food

it just shows what kind of people we have here, when they think if you put a mexican ingredient on food, it suddenly makes it mexican food.

no, just call it american food. the hamburger was invented in germany, but we dont go to mcdonalds thinking we're going to eat german food. if i put salsa on my meatloaf or turkey sandwich, does that suddenly make it mexican food?

im just saying that mexican food is not taco bell, that's american food no matter what that chihuahua tells you

Stop trying to start an argument, you asstard. It's Mexican food, whether or not you want to piss everyone off with your anal retentive behavior on a technicality.[/quote]

im not trying to start an argument, i was just trying to clear up that idiot comment up there about mexican food=oxymoron
then that other guy says stuff like, "if you put a mexican ingredient on food, it makes it mexican food." im not arguing, im just responding.
all i said was that if you want REAL mexican food.

it's fine if you think im an a$$, i just hope you're close to it a few hours after someone eats these things. :Q

that being said, i think this is a great deal even if you can eat ONLY one.

No way can anyone eat 15 lbs of food. I doubt anyone here could eat 10 lbs of food in one sitting. Heck that little asian guy that wins the hot dog eating contest eats like 50 hot dogs and buns and that was around 16 pounds....and he is a professional eater trained at this stuff. I guess it would all depend on the time limit and the number of bathroom breaks you were allowed to take.

3 - 5lb burritos? Get it free if you finish them? This Texan has learned the value of eating too much spicy food, it would hardly be worth the "isolation" for the next few days, much less "the morning after".

I just cant imagine my eliminating 15 lbs of burrito "the morning after".

<chant> Picture..... PICTURE...... PICTURE..... PICTURE!... PICTURE!!.. PICTURE!!!<chant>

I believe eating 15lb of food made up of a lot of meat is considered binge eating and one should approach this cautiously.

Caution!

OK, just to put this in perspective, I am sure some of you know about the big steak eating promo in Amarillo Texas. They have a deal where you can eat a 72oz steak (4.5lbs by my calculations) a roll, and some other stuff like I think a shrimp cocktail and some coleslaw. You have to eat it in 1 hour. Now, 4.5lb is a lot less than what you all are talking about, but this is steak, and not good steak either, more like fajita meat. No leaving the table once you start, no one else can touch your food and you have to finish everything (grisle too). I stopped in just to look at this thing an it is hugh. But many people have done it, some in less than 30 min. They have a chalk board up with weight before and after.

In anycase, if someone can eat that in an hour, I think there are plenty of people who could eat 10lbs of burrito, maybe even 15.

I do some work at a Green Burrito in my area. The owner there, if I remember correctly, told me a women came in and challenged their promotion and won something like 500.00 bucks. He challenged her to do it again next week. If she couldn't do it she would have to give the money back. She ended up doing it and got another 500 bones. Don't know how many pounds the meal was. She was a small skinny woman to and the only one that was able to do it at the time. I'm sure they stopped that promotion. The rice is what usually gets you ... probably expands in you stomach.

As far as authentic mexican food is concerned. The diets have changed dramatically over the years. Similar to Chinese food. I have quite a bit of Chinese friends and the first time I went out with them to eat chinese food I was in the mood for some shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour pork. To my surprise they ordered a bunch of interesting dishes that bared no resemblance to what I usually have when I go out to eat chinese food. My friend explained to me that what I usually eat is Americanized Chinese Food. The only thing I was not able to eat was the chicken feet (the skin that is on the talons). I was also surprised to hear that my grandma made the chicken feet as well(and we are Mexican).

Anyway, I had invited several of my friends over for dinner at my house. All thought they had eaten mexican food at Taco Bell untill they tried my moms cooking and even she cooks a little americanized.

Whether in China or Mexico .. the diets are pretty healthy over there but once they come to America and change diets (more Crisco in the refried beans, lots of butter, fried everything) Bamm !!! cancer problems an so forth.

If you can still find someone who makes their tortillas fresh at home and get that salsa thats just right .. you would see what a treat that could be alone. I only know of one person that still does this and restaurant made tortillas don't even come close to hers.

Good food is out there .. just got to experiment and never be affraid to try those small mom and pop places - they usually get down. Classify what you want, just be aware that people who take pride in their food and culture seriously or just know a lot about food in general will always point something out.

Happy eating

Phew! I thought I was the only one that can hear animals talk!

5 lbs? That's pretty f*cked up. And that 72 oz. steak? WTF... maybe if it was a porterhouse or something... but 4.5 lbs of sirloin? Ugh.
Then again, even ribeye or some equivalent cut... can you imagine eating 4.5 lbs of prime rib?

Doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Save yourself the pain and use it to feed a family of four... heh.

Heh... and I just finished watching The Pianist, through most of which the protagonist is starving nearly to death and scrounging for food.

Bet that poor guy could have used one of these burritos. Maybe I'll throw one in the mail and send it to someone needy.

Being vegatarian and a picky eater, I find it hard to find decent grub. I do love a good veggie burrito though. The question is, why would anyone *want* to eat that much food in the timescale. I think your stomach would hurt so much you'd gladly give the money back and more to feel better again. Not to mention the ring of fire the next day. That Japanese hot dog guy is definitely not human.
