Wondering if this is legit myself.

I bought the game when it first came out. And have been trying to get friends to try it since. At the very least I can now run my LAN party's online with this now instead of just local, since they no longer make CD checks.

Not saying that this isn't legit, but it sure looks like warez to me. Is there anything like a company press release that says they're giving it away?

edit: the download links pull from the game site in a "online orders" folder. I poked around the game site and don't see any way to get there without paying $19.99 for a key.
I'd have a clearer conscious if there was a notice somewhere that they're giving away the game.

Well, I was givin this link by a friend of mine irl . All I saw was that it said this game was free..... if its not and its a warez or something im sorry

Savage is an online only game, kind of like BF1942 but with trolls and barbarians and the like. There is no single player component.

I wouldn't be surprised if the above link is to a full legit client installer, but you'll need to buy a key to play. So technically a free download but not really a free game.

Sounds logical, but there's a key already supplied.

This be warez fellas. Game is about 2 years old anyway.

Check the forums. Here's the FAQ: link. It appears that, while the link to buy is still up on their site, it doesn't actually work. To whit, it will charge you, but it doesn't give you access to a download or a key (they're supposedly out of keys.) The download info on the page the OP posted is available in that FAQ, and more discussion of the problems are in a few other threads.

That link has absolutely nothing about the game being free in it.

I'm still thinking it's warez without the official site posting something otherwise.

In this thread on the S2Games.com website they say that S2games is pretty much dead, and that this is "unofficially" now a free game. Not quite sure what to make of it, but if so...nice deal. Too bad about the publisher, though.

But sure, not official enough for you. By all means, buy it from the link provided from the site. Note that you probably will not be successful, as another post on the forum notes that it no longer is authenticating credit cards.

I downloaded and played a little. Pretty fun. Since it's an online only game if the company cared whether or not people were playing for free they would just block the 2 keys provided from being usable.

I can't imagine them not knowing about the website as it doesn't seem like it's trying to hide anything.

That being said who knows whether it's legal or not. Regardless, the game is fun ^^

Is it pretty easy to find a server to play on? I have not played the game in a long time.

I'm sorry, my eyes must be failing me... can you point out exactly WHERE in the FAQ it says they can't/won't sell it?

It says you can dispute it with them if the purchase doesn't work, but I didn't see anything that says they aren't "selling" it.

I played it during beta and a bit during retail. It really is a pretty fun game. I stopped playing because I got into World of Warcraft closed beta.
