Again, I took in the above print outs and they called to verify. I did this deal and I do not think it is advertised. It may depend out your store.

I went to my local CompUSA this morning to get on this deal but they were nowhere to be found...nada WD 120 gig hd in the shelf. The rebate coupons too were gone...I think they are now aware of this BB PM deal.:Q

I'll try my luck at Fry's tonight.

How about doing the deal this way :

Get a price confirmation receipt from BestBuy for the 199.97 price

using AmEx Blue, Buy the drive from CompUsa or Fry's for $299.99 (because they may not price match) Also pickup the rebate form.

Call AMEX Blue BVG to price match, you'll need to fax in your receipt and the price verification from Bestbuy.

Send in the MIR for the $100.

so 299.99 - 100 BVG - 100 MIR = 99.99

I have not this but it was just a thought.

Anyone have any luck trying to PM in any Fry's in the bay area? All the BB that I called didn't have any more HD left (some are selling at $299).

Last time I checked, Fry's didn't accept American Express cards. At least in the Houston location, anyway.

This would have been the saving grace, but here in the bay area, all the BEST BUYs are Out of Stock, they didn't give it to me at that price because of that. No pricematch.

If anyone would be kind enough to pick one up for me please PM me.....

I just got one from fry's, the manager did the pricematch for me. But he said I wouldn't get the rebate since they had already cut $100 off. I told him I would try it anyway. Does anybody know what the manager said is true or not ?

fuk the manager they don't know shi t you will get the rebate anyway even if the price was 100.
As long as u buy it during the time period it says on the rebate or unless the rebates states a minimum price.

great deal might try it tomorrow thanksss

i picked one up at compusa, and just filed a claim with amex pricematch with bestbuy. they accepted my claim, and told me to just send in copies of my receipt, price verification printout from bestbuy and shelf price tag of the hard drive. it should go through. so for those of you who couldn't get the stupid compusa manager to pricematch bestbuy, you might want to just go ahead and pick one up from there anyway. just make sure to stop by bestbuy to get a price verification print out.

this should work at frys too if frys accepts american express.

I went to the Fry's in Houston today and had no problem getting a match to $199. I just took a printout of the bestbuy shelf tag that was linked to earlier in this thread. They said "another one of these?", called a local best buy, then gave me a quote for $199 to take to the cashier. They told me there should be no problem getting the $199 rebate.

I ended up at the Best Buy at Willowbrook Mall later in the day and they still had plenty of the 120 GB drives in stock.

If you guys cannot get this drive, then I suggest that if you want to settle on a 100gb instead of a 120gb, then go to the local Sam's club or www.samsclub.com and get the 100gb for only $219 and there is a mail-in rebate for $100...so only $119+tax for a 100gb. I was down there today and they had tons of them. Oh yeah, only 1 rebate per household :-( But such a good deal.

Holy moly, I was just there yesterday and my friend and I were joking about pricematching. Didn't know any other stores had it for sale at $199 though... DAMN! I'm so in... Oh wait, I'm broke. Bloody hell!

<< #5. Walk out the store, dont let the checker guy look at your bag, just for the hell of it. (its illegal for them to force you to show them your stuff) >>

1) Why wouldnt you want the guy to look at your bag? Its not as if you are stealing something. You did pay for the HD right?
2) Its not illegal to force you to show them your stuff. You are inside the store, and all they have to say is that they have belieft beyond a resonable doubt that you stole something and they are just making sure you're not (similar to the Fifth Amendment)

Has anyone in SoCal tried this? I called the Best Buy in Chatsworth and was told that they're out of stock. Given that I figured it was futile to try and pricematch at Fry's.

I went to Fry's at Burbank and the salesman knew the drill already.
He said, I was the 7th (ATer most probably) who asked for a PM. They have called BB and are out of stock so PM was a no go.
The salesman even bragged that BB was just competing with there advertised price and they have the most WD 120gig HD stock available...he was right. There were 2 stacks of the drive in the aisle waiting for s@ckers who did not know abt this deal...wish I have gone earlier.:frown:

Unless you're being searched by a police officer at Fry's, security guards and/or employees of the store are NOT subject to the Fourth Amendment (Unlawful search and seizure). This means they are justifiable in searching your person when exiting the store. In addition, a violation can only occur if that person subjectively expects some degree of privacy (i.e. cameras in a bathroom would be a violation, but shoppers getting their bags checked when exiting a store is not).

Even so, I walk right past those idiots every single time. When they initially adopted the policy, I had a few chase me out into the parking lot (until I asked to speak to a manager, of course).
