I suppose the premise of the thread is, assuming people self-report honestly, members with heavily biased card histories are more likely to be viral marketers. Of course the whole thing is tongue-in-cheek but whatever.

Main rig progression:

Triton 2D something
Intel IGP 8200 something
Permedia Labs 3Dextreme
Geforce MX200
Geforce Ti 4600
Radeon 9800
Radeon X800
Geforce 7900
Radeon 4850 512mb
Radeon 5770 1Gb
Geforce 460Ti 1gb
Radeon 7950 3gb (current)

Secondary/Wifey's rig:

Geforce 7950 512Mb
Geforce 8200
Geforce 8800GTS 320Mb (beast of a card, SIMS3 like a boss nowadays)
Radeon 5770 (different than card above)

So there it is. Brown team ovah here!

Trident CGA isa
Trident 8xxx (or was it 9xxx?) VGA 512k isa (I finished x-wing1 with this)
Trident 9680 1Mb
S3 Virge
Creative Labs TNT2
Geforce MX2 (or was it 4?)
....

I can't remember what sort of bus (vlb/pci/agp?) and the vram size the last 2-3 cards had.

Edit-
I had a SB16 isa (first sound card) around the time of the Trident 8xxx.

I hope you had a soundblaster AWE32 to complement those later cards.

(back when sound cards had meaningful and HUGE differences between each other. They still do, but not as much as they did before!)

Well, the answer to who the possible "viral marketers" may be isn't from looking at people's buying history, but by the reactions to the 290X release, seen in this thread:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2346519

Should be quite obvious once you read "43dB can cause hearing damage" and associated FUD.

I hope to be hearing from you when the 780Ti launches. Then we can safely determine if you are as neutral as you claim to be.
I agree that there is tremendous FUD being spread. So tired of it from both sides.

It'll certainly be exciting if nV can put out a product and price it effectively to impact the market after now seeing what the 290X brings (both good and bad) and then see if the 290 (sans X) messes with nV's plans at all...

There's still plenty more to see before the market settles. But I think everyone should be pleased that all the cries of more than $700! for the 290X were all way off.

Everyone on this forum is a viral marketer, every single poster both past and present, including you. You just don't know it yet. :|

At least you understand the thread title.

The entire purpose of this thread is to point out how completely retarded anyone that calls someone a viral marketer on these forums is. If you post in VC&G you have been called a shill, or a viral marketer at some point in time. It's hilarious.

Had something older, something paired with my Pentium 1 at 90mhz. I was clueless with computers at the time; I remember overclocking it and it hitting 100C before it shut down due to heat. It ran for 5 minutes without a cpu cooler one time; was pretty robust.

S3 Savage 3D-Pentium 3
Geforce 3 ti200-Pared with Athlon XP 3200
Ati HD3850-AGP-Same Athlon XP 3200
Ati HD4870-Q9550
Nvidia GTX 260 core 216-Q9550
AMD HD6970-Q9550, now currently in my i7.

Holy necro Pariah. Guess I missed this one when it was originally posted.

ATI Radeon 64 VIVO
ATI 9800 Pro (flashed to 9800 XT)
ATI X800 GTO
AMD HD 4890 OC
Nvidia GTX 970
Nvidia GTX 950 (in HTPC)

Had another Nvidia that was cheap. Kept it around to troubleshoot PCIe cards. I was still running AGP in my main rig at the time.

My first PC was a pentium 133 that I played Jedi Knight on. I have no idea if it had a 3D card, I probably played in software, which is pretty awesome.

GF 4 MX 440 - first real 3D card. played a lot of jedi outcast on this baby
Radeon 9200
GF FX 5500 iirc, it wasn't much faster, if at all
Radeon X800 Pro this was a HUGE upgrade
GF 7900 GS
GF 8800 GT - another huge upgrade
Radeon 4870 - Got it on a really good sale. Only lasted about a week, but it was fast
GF GTS 250 - Instead of a replacement I got my money back and bought this! What was I thinking??
GF GTX 460
GF GTX 560 TI bought this one used
GF GTX 660 The 560 was fine for everything I played.. don't know why I bought this
GF GTX 950 was having issues with the 660 so I bought this. underrated gpu for the time imo

Cant remember the gpu on my PI MMX --> Cant remember the iGP used on the Pcchips mobo with soldered Athlon XP 2800+ --> FX5200 (yeah, worst buy in entire GPU history) --> HD 4670 --> HD5670 --> HD 5850 RMA'd to a 6850 --> 7950 boost --> 760 traded for that 7950 --> 960 --> RX 470.

PNY GeForce 4 MX 420
NVIDIA 8400M GS
AMD 5770

That's it. Never had the fortune growing up to buy expensive cards, and now that I'm an adult, I feel guilty anytime I play a video game. Want to break the habit, but there's a lot more things I want my money to go to first.

This is a memory test.

Hercules CGA (Close to 30 years ago..!!)

Ahead VGA Wizard Deluxe (256k RAM - Saved for this card and VGA monitor for months) I think this was 1990 or 91. No one I knew at the time had a VGA monitor, and people would come look at Prince of Persia, Test Drive, Wing Commander, Links and some Access adventure games, and couldn't believe that PCs could do that.

Paradise VESA Local Bus graphic card (512KB)
TSeng ET4000 based graphic card
Matrox Millenium
Orchid Righteous 3D II (Voodoo2 12 MB version)
Dynamite TNT (nvidia Riva TNT)
Radeon 7200 DDR (32MB)
Radeon 8500 AIW (another PC) (64MB)
Radeon 9800 Pro
Radeon X1900XT
Geforce 8800GT
Geforce GT240
Radeon HD4850 (first 1GB card)
Radeon HD6950 (first 2GB card)
Radeon 7950 (first 3GB card)
Radeon 7950 (crossfire)
Geforce 970 (first 4GB card.. umm.. yeah)
Radeon R9 290
Radeon RX 470 8GB (first 8GB card)
