3dfx Voodoo 2 12MB
3dfx Voodoo 2 12MB SLI
Riva TNT
Riva TNT2
Voodoo 3
STMicroelectronics/Imagination Technologies KYRO II (never really hit big time but cheap and quite quick)
Geforce 256
ATI Ragefury Maxx
Matrox G400 max
Geforce 2
ATI Radeon
Geforce 4600Ti
ATI Radeon 9700Pro
GTX 7800 512Mb
ATI X850 PE
GTX 8800 Ultra
Radeon 4870
Radeon 4890
Radeon 4890 xfire
Radeon 5870/5970 trifire
Radeon 6990 Quadfire

Some are missing but I imagine a viral marketer who wanted to remain anonymous would lie about their purchasing history. Many of my early cards were free from tech PR companies up until 9700 pro.
Bolded cards are outstanding gaming memories.
I'd be quite happy for some viral marketing $ if only someone would give it to me!
Any offers? As I'm known for leaning towards AMD (purely on bang per buck) maybe a 780 Ti SLI rig with 4930k and 30inch g-Sync monitor Mr Nvidia??

Same here, there's no way to remember every single card I ever owned.

Some of the more memorable ones include the Voodoo I, Voodoo II, Riva TNT, Riva TNT 2, Matrox Millenium (for 2D only), ATI 9700 pro (I had the all in wonder version, LOVED IT). The more recent cards, I believe i'd wait before putting them in my personal GPU hall of fame. But all of the above definitely deserve a spot in a generalized GPU hall of fame IMO.

Strangely enough, back in the old days I don't ever remember futzing with drivers, ever. It seemed like it was more or less install GPU, install drivers, and it wasn't critical to have the latest version, there wasn't a large variance in games performance (not as much as now ) depending on driver used. I even used the CD driver that came with the GPUs back then , which is simply unthinkable nowadays. You just don't DO that now...heheh. So you didn't have to update drivers every 3 weeks or so like now. Certainly there weren't game-centric beta drivers as are so common these days....seems like a step backwards to current times in that respect.

Oh this is fun!

Not sure what was on the 386 anymore... VGA/MCGA capable graphics, yeah!
S3 Trio 64 (?)
ATI Xpert/Rage 128?
Geforce 3 Ti200
Radeon 9600
Geforce 6800 (I think an XT)
Radeon X1950 Pro
Geforce GTX 260 Core 216
Geforce GTX 560 Ti (MSI Hawk)
Geforce GTX 770 4GB (MSI Gamer)

...so yeah, in recent years I stuck with nV... Mostly because of the slightly higher efficiency, and in the case of the Hawk there was awesome performance for the price.

before and with voodoo I don't remember much but after I remember most of the cards I have used in my gaming computer

Voodoo
Voodoo 2 (I think the 12MB edition) SLI
PowerVR
Redention 2200
Matrox G400
Geforce 2
Radeon 9500pro
Radeon x800xt
Geforce 7800 GT 256MB
Radeon 1950XTX
Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB
Radeon HD 4890
Geforce 560Ti
Radeon 7970

And I'm shure I have missed some cards as well, but the gamechangers for me was the voodoo card and the 9500pro.

Jeez memory lane..

I started listing but couldn't even remember them all. All's I know is that I started with a Matrox Mystique 4mb card and now have the HD7970. I do remember my favorite cards were the original Geforce 256, Radeon 9800 Pro, Geforce 6800 Ultra, Geforce 8800GTS 512, Radeon 1950XT, and my HD7970.
I still have the 8800GTS-512, one HD6870, and a HD4870 sitting around here.

My GPU history sucks tbf...

2003 - Sapphire 9500 Pro - awesome card!!!
2005 - Sapphire X800 XL - was disappointed with the performance but then again it was only 200 €
2008 - Intel HD graphics on a laptop for 1.5 years
2009 - AMD 4870X2 - yes it was some OEM card, and excellent value at 200€ lightly used; didnt even make that much noise in an Antec 900, but upgrading to Fractal R3 I needed a quieter card
2011 - Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti SOC - it was the 1000MHz factory OC version, awesome performance out of the box; although it was a minor upgrade in performance but a huge upgrade in power/noise
2012 - Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X - don't see myself upgrading this for another year or so)

Voodoo 3 3000
Geforce 2
Radeon 9700 pro
(I tried the 9500 Pro but was really disapointed and returned it, was never really happy with the 9700 pro either to be honest)

Geforce 4 ti 4400 (I think I had this, I had a ti something or other)

Radeon X1950PRO
(Newegg is showing I bought this and returned it, can't for the life of me remember why, so I guess I didn't really own or use it).

Intel GMA 3100 <---Had in my shuttle box, never did pick up a real video card. Decent single slots were hard to find by then! I sold the whole rig for a laptop, always regretted that, I should have bought a video card and kept that and gamed for years after)

Some crappy HP AMD laptop with integrated graphics. I gamed on low settings for a bit on that. It got insanely hot.

Geforce 400 something or other (whatever it was would have been top of the line 400 cards I'm sure since my brother bought it). My brother gave me his old rig which was still pretty awesome. But It was giant, I parted it out to buy a laptop after not using it very long. Wish I never did that either.

Geforce 560m - in a gaming laptop. Worked great until about 10 minutes of playing and it got so hot it downclocked. What's the freaking point of buying it if it just downclocks to some crappy videocard speed and gets choppy?? I actually think it may have been the intel CPU downclocking or both, either way, ugh that made me angry.

GTX 760 OC

I remember buying the Geforce 2 at Circuit City and swearing I'd never spend $300 on a video card again. And I never have. My newest GTX 760 OC was only $250 and came with a game. I haven't really kept up on gaming much in the last few years. I kind of wish I had though, I tried some really mobile options but it just didn't cut it. But I'm glad I skipped some cards for a while there too, some of you people spent insane amount of money, I'm glad I didn't do that.

This newest system and card is the happiest I've ever been with a rig. The GTX 760 OC is a good priced card and it's the smoothest and most capable card I've owned. I've just never really been totally happy with any of my other PC's like I have been with this one

To be honest I've never really been happy with Radeon cards, there was always something just not right or driver problems or something. I've always had better luck with Nvidia and would now prefer to just stay with them.

Late 90's/early 00's I switched cards quite a bit and sometimes switched back to cards I had previously used, so the order may not be totally accurate early on. Probably forgot a couple along the way too.

Purchases since last year:

GTX 650
GTX 660
HD 7770
HD 7790
Hd 7850
HD 7870
HD 7950
HD 7970

AMD has been winning the price/performance race this generation so the majority of the purchases at specific price points ended up being AMD since last year. Looking to pickup a couple R9 290X or 780 Ti around Black Friday and the price will dictate the winner.

So yeah, I'm an Ati fanboy, but my allegiance with them left when amd took over. Just get the best performance in budget now, but not as often since I became a 'grown up' though... Meh.

You guys have some ridiculously long lists...

Cirrus Logic 1MB VLB card
Matrox Mystique 4MB PCI
Geforce Ti4200 64 MB AGP
Geforce 580 1.5GB PCIe

at this rate apparently I can't upgrade until a new interface emerges beyond pcie

my list sucks, lol

let's see.....

intel integrated (a few....)
geforce mx 440 (total garbage)
geforce 5200 (also total garbage)
quadro 140m (this dell laptop was my main gaming rig for a couple years. Terrible card; the gpu would melt every ~6 months, thankfully I had a warranty)
ati/amd 5670m (this laptop was then also my main gaming rig for a couple years......good memories....made crysis fun...and still works to this day and I am typing on it)
geforce 570.....my first decent standalone card and still my gaming rig

Probably going to buy something once the 290s are released and something gets cheap......that said, as it is the 7950s are looking tasty.
