Tonight the Earth will pass through the debris field of the Comet Temple-Tuttle that passed by in the mid 1800's....

Tonight will be the best Meteor shower/show since 1966. Expect up to 800 meteors an hour!

Set your alarms, wake the kids, find a kick back beach chair, a warm blanket, and watch the eastern sky by the constellation Leo (USA sky).

The Earth will pass through the the field again next year, but it will be a full moon...spoiling any view. Next viewing of this magnitude is decades away.

For those of you that are in EST the meteor shower will be between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM Sunday morning, peaking at 5:00 AM

Hmm mostly clear in upstate NY but mid 20's... Brrrrrrr.
Now we just have to decide if we want to wake up at 4am and drive for 20 or 30 minutes to find someplace remotely dark.

Friday. Hmm... Here at UCD, me and like 4 other guys stay up till at least 2 everyday, including weekdays. We usually sleep at around 6 in the morning. Won't be a problem for us to see it. Just hope I don't forget about it.
