$399 for Ultra and $399 for regular...why bother with the regular? Unless the Ultra is never to be released again

So it seems using 5800 didn't completely deter you from nVidia? Thats good to hear

"you have stock in nvidia i take it AunixM3?"

Oh yeah, I have SO MUCH stock in NVDA (that's their ticker). I have invested over $100,000 in nVidia. You all have to buy their products or I will go bankrupt! Please help me out here!

yes! I'll quote myself from other posts (to save myself some typing):

you can check out the rest of the tests, but that is the 5200 Ultra absolutely owning the competition. The 5200 non-ultra is clocked slower than the 5200 Ultra, but it can OC to near Ultra-speeds.

As well, the 5200 core is much better, as you can see in that link, absolutely killing the competition with AA enabled. If the Ultra can outperform cards with ease, so can the non-ultra.

With 4xAA, again, 5200Ultra absolutely slaughters the 8500 and 9000Pro: link
Same deal with 2xAA and 4xAF: link
Serious Sam: Almost a close competition (if you take away 20fps from the 5200): Link
And in UT2003, 5200 slaughters the rest: link

~Aunix
So... yeah, the Ultra does very well, and much better with AA enabled.

The non-ultra is just an underclocked version of the Ultra. It can OC to near Ultra levels--so yes.

Ultra is 325/325, I dunno non-ultra speeds (I think I recall 250/250 or something around that).

I have a questionj to ask u guys and aunixm3. I have a pIII 1.0 ghz pc with 768 mgs of ram. I currently have a geforce 2mx 440 PCI card. Well some games look good but some new one like black hawk down is so choppy and slow at 640x480 at 16 bit. Well I want a new graphics card. My pc has an agp slot. SO I'm not that big into gaming on my pc as much as I use too. I have an xbox. But I do want a new card and I dont want to spend more than a $100 on a card. What would u reccomend on that price point. Radeon 8500 128mb non LE version, Radeon 9000 128mg for $99 or a leadtek geforce 5200 ultra 128 mg for $100. Thanks.

I don't think the FX 5200 outperforms the Radeon 8500. I'm pretty sure the 8500 is faster (but the FX5200 has DX9 features, and good AA/AF.)

So far most reviews I've seen the GF4TI4200 and Radeon 8500 are definitely faster than a FX5200. The more expensive 5200ultra is about the same speed as the GF4TI4200 and Radeon 8500.

As for OC's, the Radeon 8500 does a decent overclock too if you put Ramsinks on, don't know how well the 5200ultra would overclock but probably not very far.

Are you on crack? Did you see my post and check out the links? The 5200 Ultra completely sluaghters the 8500 and 9000Pro, especially with AA/AF enabled.

If you dun trust FS, then take a look at Anandtech:
can you say PWND???
In Serious Sam it loses, but as soon as AA/AF are enabled it kills the 9000Pro: Link

I think it's pretty clear the 5200 Ultra is the best.

beat by few fps and only at certain settings on a 4200, and not even benchmarks for the 8500 and you say "PWND"; are you on crack?

There was a 100 FPS DIFFERENCE between the 5200 and the 9000Pro. I highly doubt the 8500 can cover that gap.
