If you have ever eaten applesauce, you are eating "baby food". Baby food is just pureed stuff, mostly fruits and vegetables, that we eat normally.

Most of it is actually quite good. I used to know someone in school that brought a bottle of baby food in their lunch. They said it tasted better and there was more variety than just bringing applesauce.

It varies from woman to woman. Yes, I've tried the breast milk of several different women. No, I'm not going to tell the stor(y/ies). It ran the gamut from bitter to extremely sweet.

Think of how regulated modern dairy processing is. In order for this to work we'd have to regulate feed, housing, stress levels (almost impossible with humans and most other primates), and processing. The equipment and infrastructure is all there but raising humans like animals, even putting aside the abhorrent ethics of such a proposition, would be extremely challenging.

edit: One last point. As it is different breeds of cattle produce wildly different tasting milk. We would literally have to start separating humans into herds.

Where can I attend one of these samplings?

also, babies don't have a very developed sense of taste. It takes time for that to come around. The first sensation a human gets is bitterness, which has a strong tie to a lot of dangerous plants having a bitter taste to them.

PETA has been accused (and evidence has been shown) of providing funds to people who have committed arson against research facilities that test on animals. Well sure, but at that stage in life, it's also the only flavor they've ever really known. If we were genetically programmed to hate the taste of human milk, we'd all starve to death before age 1.

My mom's on some kind of health-food kick, and is all "omg the food industry is out to kill us," so she's been buying raw milk from local farmers. I've tasted some of it from a few batches.
It's god-awful. Most of it tastes like a cross between sour cream and cheese. And the un-homogenized fat makes it seem kind of "chewy."


Maybe this could be an alternative to Welfare: Put the Welfare moms, who like having kids every 9 months on the dot, to work at dairy farms. Let them watch Oprah or Judge Judy on HDTVs all day long, and it'll be just like home. Their kids could roam free in converted feedlots.
