Sorry to thread crap, but PETA SUCKS! Even the FBI regards a significant amount of PETA as Terrorists.

The government also thought at one time people who freed slaves were anti-american, and during the 50's if you listened to the government then pretty much everyone in Hollywood was a Communist. There is also documentation that our government was warned by the Israeli secret police(equivalent of their FBI) that aircrafts would be used as suicide weapons and that the twin towers would be a target, yet what does W say? We had no idea planes would be used as weapon. Either that's a lie, or our multi-billion dollar "intelligence" network can't even receive high profile warnings from other governments without somehow ignoring or losing them. Remember, you're supposed to think for your government, not vice versa.
I don't agree with all of PETA's actions, but anyone who can say that there isn't a lot of useless torture and experimentation on animals, does so purely out of ignorance on the subject. I'm a vegetarian and choose to try and minimize my use of animal products because that's what I choose to do. I don't expect everyone to become a vegetarian, but there are many things that could be done to make our animal industry much more humane without sacrificing the precious burger.
