"UA1737 on September 25 is delayed due to aircraft servicing."

That's what the status message reads and one of the customer service reps said its due to "something they noticed on its last trip back from San Francisco."

what they noticed is that the pilot is over their hours, maybe?

UA1737 from Honolulu to San Francisco.

Scheduled to leave at 6:30am this morning. Then it got delayed to 7:30 due to maintenance issues. Then delayed again to 8:40. And then AGAIN to 10AM. The plane is sitting right here in Honolulu somewhere.

At this point I'm wondering wtf is wrong with this plane and whether I should even take it. It's a 5 hour flight and nothing but hundreds of miles of cold ocean from here to San Francisco...
Yes, big time issues. DO NOT GET ON THE PLANE!!!

Water is as hard as concrete when you slam into it at 500+ mph. You won't feel a thing.

If you hear sort of a thud coming from below just after takeoff, it is time to kiss it goodbye.

Meh, OP is only 1/2 the distance of my next trip from LAX to S Korea non stop. Now that is a long trip but at least I will fly with Asiana. I hear their flight attendants are young and cute, not old hags as US airlines flying international routes. ANA flight attendants were so cute and nice, Uhoh, you need to make a trip

Only until surface tension is broken, which should happen by the landing gear, the nose, the tail, the wing, the people you're climbing on to cushion your landing....

Well, if the engine takes out half the wing and his plane is falling out of the sky from 35,000' I doubt the pilot is going to be pulling a Sully in the middle of the Pacific ocean.

Don't worry you wouldn't get any parts.

OP, be happy they found the issue on the ground.

Hahahahaah ... . Had to read that a few times .... awesome ....

I certainly would NOT get any parts unless they intentionally wanted to hire someone who can't act, and usually they only do that for movies

i was on a plane that was about to take off when they told us that the airplane had the wrong kind of fuel put into it, and that they had to refuel it with the correct fuel.

Wait, seriously? Is there ANYTHING in the commercial section of the airport that DOESN'T take Jet-A?

If you do end up crashing and find yourself on an island with a smoke monster and you stumble across a hatch, find the nearest cliff and throw yourself off of it because you're already dead.

Hey, UAL811 made it...

NTSB reports found human remains in the fan blades of the Number 3 engine, suggesting that some of the victims died almost instantly as they were pulled out of the plane

Damn... I don't know what's worse, getting sucked out of an aircraft at 23,000' or getting sucked into one of the engines.

Id' rather have the engine do me in than free fall for quite a long while, knowing that the result cannot be a good thing.

Engine because you had no idea you were about to get sucked into the engine. If you're free falling you see the ground coming closer. and closer. and closer. and closer. and cl-SPLAT.
