I'm going to get a Silverstone TJ03, but I can't decide on which color. All my drives are Black, but I'm not sure if the contrast between them and the black case will look bad or not. Does anyone have any pictures of a TJ03 case they can send me?

Also, if you scratch a black alluminum case does it show silver?

if you scratch, it will show silver. i have the silver one and its absolutely stunning, but i think i perfer the black to the point where i might sell it just to buy the black one. great choice on the case btw, i've never seen a case so aesthically pleasing

When I was deciding which WaveMaster to get, I was torn between the silver & black ones. They're equally stunning to me, but the drive color sitch made me opt for black -- particularly after I saw a silver WM at CompUSA (Compaq branded, but same exact case) and it had black drives. Yuk. Just didn't look right at all. So I got a black one.

If more mfgrs made silver-faced optical drives, I'd get an additional case and it would be silver. Oh, and don't even think about those silly paste-on silver color faceplates. They look ridiculous.

I've seen pictures online of silver cases with black drives, many times. Search around a bit and you should be able to find some test reports of silver cases that show pics of them with black drives. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so get what you like.

Great choice. It's a real beauty. In my opinion it should not matter, the drives will be covered by the door unless you are really anal about how different shades of black will contrast.

I prefer silver. If my current case had been available in some other color, I'd have gone for it. Black is a depressing color... Either beige or black drives look at home in a silver case. Black drives almost never match each other in color, much less the case they are in.

I have 3 rigs in black cases, and I also have a black Lian-Li sitting around empty.

Here's what I've learned about black cases:

1. They show dust.
2. They show fingerprints
3. "black" doesn't always match "black" (drives + accessories)
4. When clean, they look GREAT!

Your rig, you have to decide.

Black does show a lot of dust-- As long as you don't mind taking the time cleaning all the nooks and crannies every now and again. But it is your case, your money, and your descision. Good luck.
