PS4 and XB1 both have apps that offer second screen experience through tablet and phones. On AC4 you can view the map and set waypoints without pausing the game. It makes it much more enjoyable since most of your game is navigating on the water. Rumble functionality can be used in many ways to alert the player. It's become something of a standard to have.
Wii U will usually be the worst platform to play multiplats for; ps4 and xbone will likely be better. I don't see how anyone could argue differently. However, PC is better than the xbone and ps4 as well...
That is why I think the Wii U makes a good 'additional' console. I got it purely for first party games. I doubt I'll get anything not exclusive to the Wii U.
Right now I use my PC for the majority of gaming and my Wii U and PS3 for the excellent exclusive games they have. I also have a Wii and 360 but they are practically untouched.
I'll pick up a PS4 if it gets some exclusives worth caring about. All it would take is Demon's Souls 2.
