getting around administrator priveledges :(

i just want to install a demo on this computer and it says i need administrator priveledges to play the game. how do i get around this?? i will be your best friend forever!

Ask your "friend" if you can put this demo on his/her comp.. This person obviously has it set up this way so people like you don't just go installing any old program you want and fvcking up thier computer..

No, either you know the password, or you don't. There isn't some magic way to circumvent security.

I administer a computer that is set up for a particular task, and the permissions are set such that no one except myself can install anything, for a pretty darn good reason: numerous people wouldn't be too happy if we couldn't get the job that system does completed due to someone having screwed it up, to say the least. In short: bypassing security without permission sucks, and I wouldn't feel bad for you in the least if some of the professionals here flamed you a bit harsher than they have already, because I understand (albeit to a very limited extent) how they feel about this.

Is it XP home edition? If so, reboot into safe mode, go into the unprotected Administrator account and create your own account.
