Damn, I don't get cut in front of that often. Something you are doing must give off a 'kick me' sign on your back. I mean, it happens to me now and again, but I don't think its happened to me in the last 10 years as many times as you report here in what, a couple months?

Because it rarely happens to me, I just let it go like "sure whatever, I'm not standing here." But if it happened that often, I'm sure I would speak up more (though probably not every time, one must pick and choose their battles wisely).

Man if you hate ppl who cut lines, don't go to crowded cities. Had a friend who went to the world expo in Shanghai and he almost got into a fight with some line cutters. I guess people there are too polite to say anything so asses can do whatever they want.

That's the culture in China ... people there don't understand the concept of forming lines and it's just free for all. Old ladies there will run you over to be in the front.

I haven't done much travelling and we don't get tourists where I'm from, but I did spend about 1.5 weeks in Europe a few weeks ago, and I found that asian people are super pushy, and they really will try and cut in line given the opportunity.

Not to derail your thread, but awhile ago I saw a dude bump into a guy while he was getting piping hot water at a convenience store to make tea.

The guy who did the bumping is all tatted-up, looks like a Mexican Mafia wannabe. He's a real burly dude, built like a brick shit house, but mostly overweight. Walks to the end of the line (there were only two people ahead of him), but had to walk between the person in front of him and another guy behind him who is trying to make tea at the coffee station (with his back to the line). Burly dude just brushes into the guy making tea and causes the guy to spill hot water on his hand.

The guy who got burned says "AHHH...shit!" while pulling his hand back and slinging the water off. He looks at the dude who bumped him and the guy just ignores him. Burned dude says "Hey...I got hot water here." The dude looks at him with an expressionless look on his face and replies "Yeah" as if to say 'OK, whatever.'

Burned guy looks at me, I'm looking at him shaking my head as if to say 'what the fuck is his major malfunction?' He turns around to the guy and says "Yeah? You made me spill boiling hot water on my hand...and all you can say is "Yeah?"

The dude says again, "Yeah" this time even more crass than the first and then turns away (toward the line). The burned guy gets red in the face and I seriously thought he was going to retaliate. I'm thinking to myself, if this gets ugly, and I have to punch this big fucker in the face, its probably going to break my hand while not phasing him too much (he had a huge cow head). So then I start sizing up where I can hit or kick this big fucker for most effect (I settle on a hard side or stomp kick to the lateral knee or tibia).

But burned dude just says "Watch what the fuck you're doing next time." That was it. Burned dude finishes making his tea (you could tell he was furious) and there are no more words exchanged. Burly dude gets to the front, pays for his stuff and walks out.

Sounds like the burned guy was civilized. It hurts to be civilized at times, but the reward is that you don't start fights in convenience stores, no matter how deserved they are.

Grats on standing up for the burned guy, if only in your mind, most people would have an OPP field up, you were the cross out on the bistromathic pad.

I am but its not as though I'm in a wheelchair or hooked to a ventilator. I can still give someone a few stomps in rapid succession or whack a bottle upside their head then make a quick exit, if need be.

At least you know your limits, not many fighters get that.

Lots of people in this thread seem like they're saying "I would have done this, I would have done that, blah, blah."

Don't let people walk over you. If you let people get away with simple shit they go even further. I'm not saying beat the shit out of someone, but at least confront them.

Even if I wasn't, I would never go toe-to-toe with this guy. He was only about two inches taller than me but had a MASSIVE frame, like power lifters (or football linemen) who still have a lot of fat. Huge cow head. I've seen guys like that absorb solid punches and toss people around with ease. They run out of gas quick but it would take a MUCH harder punch than I have from a MUCH bigger dude than me to phase them in the meantime, unless you employed really dirty moves (like stomp kicking someone's knee or tibia).

You can't let people walk all over you, no. I'm not sure what kind low-class reject actually cuts lines regularly but they can't get away with it without confrontation. Call them out IMMEDIATELY, hey YOU don't cut infront of me. People don't like getting called out directly. It's ridiculous that you got cut off by a mom with her daughter lol.

The French and Germans are pretty bad for line cutting. I've been to both Disneyland in Florida and in Paris and the difference is night and day. Americans form queues automatically but Europeans (not including Brits) just form a seething mob.

Japan was the best place I've been for queueing. Even on the subway train platforms people queue up in a line to get on, that never happens in London.

I would have got his name and asked for his manager and not budged until he/she came out. Follow up with a letter to corporate. Normally i let shit go, but this is retarded.

Funny story, the same thing happened to a friend of mine at a baskin robbins. He didn't say anything then he ordered a huge order for himself and his girlfriend. When the clerk rang it up, he said....eh...i changed my mind and walked out. LOL

that's awesome, I gotta remember that

Getting cut by old ladies who don't speak your language gets a pass in my book. Yelling won't do much more than make you look like an idiot, and if you even restake your place in line you look like a total asshole..lose/lose there.

Maybe I should work on not looking like a pushover idiot?? Damn.

Sounds like someone needs to stand in front of a mirror and work on his 'stance of dominance'. When your reflection jumps back from your stance, you can go back into the community with your balls in tow.

Til then I'll just put them away along with your man card.
