Early spring this year i jumped on the apple bandwagon and got myself a 32g iPad. Then a month or 2 later i got a 32g iPhone 5. Love the things. Then a month or 2 later and i have added an Apple TV. Been thinking about getting a macbook (air or pro) or even an iMac.

lol. not sure what i will do with it yet as i already have 2 fairly decent Win/Tel pc's i built.
But last week i went for it and got a i5 mac mini. (i also upgraded the memory from 4g to 16g)

still trying to get a handle on the different way things work. (compared to windows) things like installing programs. It definitely is different. Look forward to learning my way around. First thing i did was the Mavericks upgrade. Probably end up using it as a media centre pc for things like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime.

Yeah, I got hooked, too, after years of being a hater. In the period of a year I went from never owning any Apple device at all to having an ipad 2, iphone, appletv. Now also have an ipod touch in the house and as of today an additional iphone.

Still not bought nor have any intentions on buying a laptop or desktop, though.

Yeah, got hooked two. Six-seven years ago. iPods, iPhones, Macbooks, iPads. For myself, the GF and my family (my granny still rocks her iPad 1 ).

Then I ran into so much trouble with my Macbook.

Now I have rid of all but the iPad 2.

I started with the iPad 1. I said it's okay as long as it's only iPads.

Then after the iPad 1, 3, and 4. I ended up getting an Apple. TV. I said, it's okay, I just need this to Air Play from my iPad.

And then I get an iPhone 5S. But it's okay, it's just for work, I didn't even pay for it.

I have an iPad Mini with Retina (picked it up today), Apple TV, and iPhone 5S. I think I might have a problem. I even looked at a Macbook recently but fortunately since they don't have touch screens I decided to pass. But I am concerned I might end up buying a Macbook if OSX ever embraces touch input (seems weird they don't).

I still freaking hate iTunes and don't know how to use it though. Seems like I'm always wiping out content on my iPad or reloading a bunch of crap I tried to remove. The syncing process is not very intuitive to me. So at least I have iTunes hate still going strong for me.

Pretty much the same road here. iPad 2->iPhone 4S->MBP->Apple TV 3->iPhone 5. Had an older iPod Mini or Nano but played no role in the adoption of the others.

It's not your fault. I have come to the conclusion that technically minded people can't use iTunes properly. In fact, sit two people in front of iTunes for the first time and the person who finds it most frustrating and ridiculous is probably the more technically inclined. There are tons and tons of people who hate iTunes. It's incredibly crappy. I assume it is designed to be plug and play for grandmas, but people who want to specifically control things have to jump through hoops. I only ever use it when manually moving movies onto an Apple device or with the Apple TV. I don't do any music through it at all. Any music I listen to on my devices I stream.

What is so great about Apple TV? Why that over, say, a PS3 since that is what I already have

I had both. I guess its just so much easier and comfortable to play media on the Apple TV, though you are always bound to the Apple Store. It just means you cannot play any real games.

Both are now sold and replaced with a Windows-based HTPC. Now I have everything plus cable TV.

Small, quiet, streams great from either online or from your home network. And it's a fraction of the price of an Xbox. Airplay, iTunes University, media purchasing or rental.

As far as using Apple stuff, almost everything else just looks and feels cheap.

You are the minority. Of all things I've heard the iPhone, iPad, and MacBooks called cheap build isn't one of them. Most solid products I've ever used. Nice change from plastic Android and PC notebooks.

While true, the UI is absolutely abysmal. If you buy a lot of video through iTunes or like to use AirPlay, it is serviceable, however there are much better devices out there if you don't fall into those use cases.

Whats wrong with Apple TV UI

I prefer it to pretty much everything.

Netflix on ATV is a better experience than on PS3 Xbox, Sharp TV built in, Sony TV built in

I havent tried the Xbox incarnation in a while but it wasn't good at all when I used it but I stopped paying for Live over a year ago.

I think he meant most non-Apple stuff feels cheap.

Used to use quite a few Apple products, the iPod Nano 1st and 3rd gen. A first gen iMac. Heck, the first computer I ever used was an old Macintosh. Nowadays, I stay well away from iTunes, and the Mac computers themselves don't exactly fit my requirements. (Want the Retina display so very bad, but the CUDA performance of the GT 750M doesn't suit my needs very well)

Once i figure out how to use OS X, i will look at switching my "work" computer over to Apple. (am signed up for free training at a local Apple store (not >THE< Apple store but a traditional computer store that does all things apple) )

My SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) the last few years is build a new game rig. and everything sidesteps left. New computer is gamer and the now old gamer is now worker.
Its been 2yrs since last build. Do not see a need to upgrade at the moment as current gamer plays everything i have just fine. (video card was updated about a yr ago and also sidestepped old one)

worker does everything. surfing, email, pix, video. Was looking at the programs i use most and just about all of them are available in OS x. I like to keep my dvd/bluray collection on computer (play on a WD live) so i use a program to copy dvd to drive. Nice having everything right there "jukebox" style.

i did find it curious that the mac mini (after signing on to wireless network) it sees my windows 7 shared computers /folders but the mac is not there in the windows network folder. Was able to play video from the windows folder on the mac.

I'm quite impressed with how far Apple has come over the years, I've always been one to stick with the android devices, but I recently just purchased an Iphone5C and it's amazing, I do all my basic web browsing and daily activities on it and it works amazing I prefer it over using a laptop or desktop computer. I'm excited to see the future of iphones and to see how it evolves over the next few years, the only disappoint I see is with the new lightning cables, i've had my iphone for 3 months and the cable came bubbled, long story short I wasn't going to spend 2 hours testing and repairing the wires so I bought a new $25 one, other than that thumbs up to Apple.

I just traded a co worker a Note 3 for an iP5s, I don't think I can go back to a phone without the fingerprint scanner.

I want the fingerprint scanner just so I can stop typing in my iTunes password...

Mine was iPhone 4 --> iPad 1 --> Apple TV --> MBA --> iPad 3 --> Then my wife got an iPhone 4s --> iPhone5s

I've since migrated over to Android (Note 2) due to storage and screen size. If Apple had a 5" device I'd likely go back over to the fruity side of phones.

Wouldn't mind a 27" iMac, but just not willing to spend that much one.

And yes, I build and support enterprise applications and huge storage environments but I still for the life of me find iTunes one of the most infuriating applications to use.

JUST LET ME PLUG THE DAMN IPAD IN AND COPIES MOVIES OVER TO IT A-HOLES!

Fingerprint scanner has a major flaw. It loses accuracy after couple of days and needs to be recalibrated.
