First off I believe that there are many possibilities as to why I am getting kicked. I'll address those after i give the scenario.
What is happening: I come home turn on the pc. I start browsing then after a while the browser either stops communicating with the site or locks up. I am using Firefox but the same happens to Explorer. If I restart I can continue browsing but only untill I get kicked again. I have ran every Spyware/antivirus program I have this includes Ad-aware, Spyware doctor, Spybot, A2, trend Micro's house call, and finaly Norton Antivirus. All updated and ran.
Why this might be happening: First of all I am a fool when it comes to network settings and most software. I went to a lan party a week ago and the host needed to make me part of his work group and adjust a few other things to get me up and running for a night of games. Next day I come home and plug in and start up but forget to change my workgroup back to HOME. I don't have a network per se at home just my pc and roomate's pc going to the switch (netgear) and the Lynksys modem to the router. But we dont have any interest in hooking up a network or sharing between pc's. I didn't experience the problem for a whole 4 or 5 days then all of a sudden the problem arose.
The question: given the unknown variables i.e. what settings were adjusted at the lan party and my failure to change the workgroup back to home how can I start to address the issue at hand? Was it that big of a deal that I had a diffrent workgroup than the default home?

One other thing. The problem does not happen when I am playing my online game. I'll log on right after boot and stay on for hours however if I alt-tab to use the browser I can go back and forth for a while but eventually if I am alt-tabbing back and forth and using the net Ill get kicked off of both.
