Getting laptop for girlfriend

Hey my gf's family is getting her a laptop for christmas and they are asking me to recommend one. She plays games (MMORPG, WoW) and is going to need it for school also. Right now I priced one out at dell for her with a 7900 256 meg GO video card. Whats the difference between these cards and can I see benchmarks somewhere?

I have not really been updated with video cards in laptops. Can anyone link me benchmarks? Or give me top 5 fastest laptop video cards in order? I also am looking into some Asus laptops with a 512 7700 nividia card, is that faster then the 256 7900 go?

The 7700 would be slower than the 7900, but it would be better in terms of battery life and allow for a smaller notebook. The 7700 would easily handle MMORPGs like WoW.

Basically: 79**GTX > 79**GS > 7900 Go > 7700Go = MR X1700 > MR X1600 = 7600 Go > MR X1400 > 7400 Go > MR X1300 > 7300 Go > 7200 Go > Intel Integrated Graphics

What is the budget that they are going for?

Personally I'd go with the Asus. Even though it is a marginal decrease in FPS during gaming, the build quality is much better than a Dell. Only downside is getting it repaired should something go wrong, as it'd have to be a mail-it-in and wait deal. I own an Acer (yeah yeah, but I got a good one!) with a 128mb x1600, 2gb RAM, and it plays WoW perfectly all for around $1,000.

I have a Asus S96J that has a ATI x1600 and plays games just fine. Company of Heroes, Warcraft 3 and Counterstrike all work. I know someone with a 3 year old laptop and plays WoW just fine so pretty much anything will work.

I'd say the one with the 7700, because anything with a 79xx vid card is a beast and won't be fun to carry to class...
