All natural or not, dude puts in the work big time.

He does. Mike is all business in the gym.

And, if he truly is using PEDS he should just admit to it. The Liver King should had been honest as well.

Big difference. The Liver King was lying but also selling products. He was intentionally misleading for financial gains. And it was his plan all along if you watched that video.

O Hearn isn't selling products. He's also been that way since he was like 16 whereas the Liver King wasn't. If you see pics of him like 3-4 years ago he looks totally different, although he's still been into fitness.

Also I don't believe O Hearn has flat out said anything about NOT using. I think he just doesn't address the concerns. I don't follow him very close or anything but I just never recall him denying anything, more so just not talking about it. I could be totally wrong about it though.

Good points.

The Liver King was and is till profiting from his lies and misinformation. I almost bought his ancestoral supplements. Have you seen the price of his supplements? $50 a month for grassfed beef organs in pill form. I will admit that the Liver King is a very good marketer. its why he has a multimillion dollar a year supplement company. He is being sued for over $100m so who knows if his company will vanish in a few years, or not.

As for Mike, I believe that he is being dishonest. And, he is profiting from his dishonesty. He does sell supplements, and has a very large following of very young boys/men.

Here is a video from Greg Doucette on Mike O'Hearn.

Yeah sorry, not watching a video from him. I can't take more than like 3 seconds of his voice.

First I sprained my ankle last weekend right before my son's birthday party, just walking to my car to get the rest of the pizzas. I rolled my ankle in a spot I walk probably 4+ times a day.

Then today I'm doing my normal chest routine and doing my first exercise, flat bench barbell, and after my normal warmup of 5 sets, I do my first set and got 8 reps easily so I stepped it up to a weight I've done many times before, and on the second rep I pulled my left pec.

I stopped doing chest exercises immediately, could only do half of my tricep routine due to the pain, then left after that, so I am hoping by next Thursday I'll be able to do chest, even if it's just light weight.
I looked at all your posts. I'm pretty sure you didn't tell us your age. But I agree that "getting old sucks". Even so, if you're pumping iron and upset about a sprain, I don't think you're fully aware of where these years lead us. You may, however, extend your life. Who can say, though?

I turn 42 this November.

As for lifting though I am not the strongest I've ever been but definitely up there with the best shape I've ever been lifting wise. I'm definitely a top percentile for my age I'd guess though based off of all the people I see when picking up my kid from school and going to my pool.

I was waiting anxiously to turn 42 and I did, last October. Reason was that the phase from age 35 to 42 is supposed to be the challenging phase of life. I faced my worst health issues during these years. Hopefully, I'm past all that. I actually won $6000 before the end of that phase. Bought three tickets on 15th September, gave a bit to charity (to an organization working for orphans) and lottery draw was on 17th. Turned out to be one of the 41 winners sharing the 2nd prize (no one won the Grand prize). Maybe you should get a ticket too.

It's been less bad (at 41) since starting TRT. Amazing how my aches and pains have vanished. I didn't start for fitness reasons but it's been a nice bonus.

Any side effects? Do you try to maintain normal levels or prefer them a bit boosted, for that extra bit of strength/muscle mass?

Maybe a bit of testicular shrinkage but that's it. I needed to go on an SSRI for anxiety (which it fixed) but it totally nuked my libido. My regular doc said my testosterone was "normal" and suggested viagra...which really wasn't a solution to me for the desire end of things. Went to a hormone clinic for a more in depth look and found out I was on the lower end of the "normal" range. I'm coming up on three months and have noticed major increases in my strength and endurance in addition to correcting (and then some) my libido issues.

At 57 I can provide you with reassurance that strength training never stops paying dividends. Lift for life.

Good for you. It's a typical testimonial from men on it. Stoked there is a way to help fight the aging process a little, and light that old fire back up.

I have been asked if I am on something like that, especially in gyms and dojos, many times. It's mildly insulting. I lift heavy (for me), and have been doing it most of my life. My results are due to the natural anabolic response, not better living through chemistry. That's why it's somewhat insulting I guess, because everyone just assumes you are using something. Couldn't have possibly put in the work all those years, or still be putting it in. 👀

What do your typical meals look like? Do you drink a lot of protein shakes?

I've tried lifting but my bones are so weak. It feels like I will get a fracture trying to lift heavy so that puts a damper on my desire to try to be the Hulk

Being huge isn't in the cards for the vast majority of us. People with that level of hypertrophy are on a different level. A dedication to it that I think qualifies it as an extreme sport.

I eat very little red meat. Stay away from sugar; sweet is last on my list. Do intermittent fasting for months at a time. Other than that nothing special. I love rice and pasta. Carb loading is great for hard combat sports workouts. I drink protein shakes but only one a day at most. I don't take vitamins or supplements anymore. Stopped years ago.

I strength train, do combat sports, and infrequently surf or another physical hobby. It's enough that I stand out in my age group. Being 6'5" 245-265lbs depending on my focus, bears most of the responsibility for why I get the "what are you using" questions I surmise. If I was 5'8" I don't think anyone would even comment.

You may have Netherlandic genes. What about nutritious food? Fruits? Veggies? Any preferences?

Yup. Have to be from there abouts. The large majority of humans are lactose intolerant. I am lactose super-tolerant. You know that white people love cheese meme? I am the poster child. I'm Dave Chappelle cocaine skit level. Cottage cheese too. I guess I should amend my statement to avoid added sugar. Dairy has plenty.

Don't eat much fruit. Bananas for a quick energy jolt since they are loaded with sugar. But only a few a month anymore. Again, nothing special. All those jacked and shredded people are trying to sell you something, that's why you keep thinking there has to be something to it. E.G. Liver King is a douche.

You don't need to lift weights either. Do yoga until you get stronger. Body weight like dips, pulls, chins, squats, lunges, etc. will get you a long way after that. Then you can hit the weights. That's the secret sauce, weight/strength training. Do it consistently and you are on your way.

Here is the good news. This is surgery #1 a month ago today. This hand is like, 140 bazillion % now.
I can only hurt it by getting on the ground and pushing back up using the heel of the hand, then it wags the imaginary finger at you and says " surgery, remember?"

My weight is up to 188 (5'10). I've got a physical job, I used to shed 10lbs during the Spring/Summer ramp up, but now that I am 60 it isn't happening. Still crave a big meal after work and couple of lite beers...therein lies the problem.

39 here, so a baby by this forum's standards but holy crap do the late 30's hit like a freight train. Between my family and job I don't really put in the time like I used to in my teens, 20's, and early 30's but I'm really glad I did.

Even a relatively light routine keeps me reasonably tuned up and the numbers I'm most focused on are those A1C numbers.

I have had my share of surgeries but an old childhood injury to my leg, one that is pretty serious but has never stopped me from running, is finally starting to cause some issues. Not that I can't run but I absolutely pay for it afterward in my bad ankle and knee like I never did before.

Once you realize that eating is not really necessary in the short term, you start losing weight easily.

On Sunday, I ate a decent meal at 6:30 P.M. (my first and only one).

My Monday breakfast was at 1:30 P.M.

Didn't feel hungry in the least.

Eat slightly more protein than you are used to, drink a lot of water, cut back on sugar and sugary drinks and you are on your way to losing weight.
