getting pay tv on your pc

i don't know if it is possible but you need the right chipset some of them are Brooktree/Conexant/Rockwell/Fusion BT848/BT849/BT878/BT879.
i can't really find info on the chipsets at the manufactures site.
any info would be much appreciated!!!

cable tv?

any tv tuner (pci or usb) should have a coaxial input to watch cable stations on your pc regardless of chipset.

apparently there is this program called HVCplus that can actually descramble channels.
