I have installed Red Hat Linux 7 and found out that my sound card hadn't been set up to be used in Linux. I found out that you can configure a sound card using sndconfig.
Unfortunately (me being the lazy person I am), I ran the sndconfig from a terminal window in the K Desktop Environment (KDE) (even though it advised me not to run it from the KDE terminal). The sndconfig utility recognized my sound card but when I went to test the sound card (to make sure it worked), the compuer crashed.
When I restarted my computer and rebooted into Linux, the boot process got to the point where it started to laod the Sound Module, then the system crashed.
This happens every time I try to boot into Linux and so I can't boot into Linux now.
My sound card is a soundcard which was built into the mother board. (I think it's VIA something or other)
Could someone please help me with this problem?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thank You
