GF just graduated college and needs a job....

What is the best way for her to find one dealing with marketing? We are in South Florida and she is freaking out. Any ideas?

Shouldn't she have been freaking out a few months ago at least? It takes awhile to find a job sometimes...especially a marketing job when you have a pysch degree.

General psych or experimental? Bah, I guess it doesn't matter with only a Bachelors. She is now qualified to be a great secretary.

Personally, I'd tell her to go back to school for a graduate degree if she wants to do something with psychology, or else get into sales or something like that (where you don't even need a degree in many instances).

She should have freaking out BEFORE she declared herself a psych major.

that she is freaking out says she didn't anticipate this. sorry, but that's just stupid. getting a psych degree because you love the subject is one thing. getting it and not realizing it's not useful in the job market is another. lack of planning ftl.

What is her GPA? GPA goes a lot further in some jobs then the degree itself.

Out of all my friends who graduated from college, only 1 or 2 is doing something in line with their degree. A lot of companies don't care what your major was, as long as you get the degree.

But this thread kinda supports the idea that most girls in undergrad psych programs are really just MRS majors.

Man theres a lot of dogging on Psych majors...

If she has a good degree she can apply to all the banking, finance and other accountancy jobs if that is what she wants to do.

Theres a lot of Statistics in Pyschology in England and it is just like any other degree. If you have a decent degree class you can apply to all the other finance etc type of jobs.
