At least 90% of the people on this forum moved their own furniture. I don't know anyone who has hired a rental company. I assume most of their clients are people who are old or disabled in some way.

Either you let her remove her stuff from the premises or you move the stuff into a secure storage facility and hand her the lock to the storage unit.

You would be responsible for the cost of setting up the storage unit and the moving of items to there.

Or just be the big boy (as others stated) and help her move the items out. that accomplishes what you really want.

Unless your intent is to prove that you are a donkeys rear end. If so, you have no legal leg to stand on and can possible get yourself restricted to a LEO vehicle while she cleans out the house. Doing that, then you have the issue of proving that she took something of yours. you will have already generated an bad impression so her word may have more weight than yours.

It would depend if op added her name to the papers or such for without any proof she lives there then it would be her word against his and she would loose without anything to back her up.

Granted she can still get her stuff back but for letting anyone in without any permission it wouldn't be allowed.

I can't speak for all locales, but here in CA. if her belongings are there, she receives mail there (even as simple as a cell phone bill) and (although not necessary) the police were to inquire with the neighbors they can confirm her vehicle stays over night. Thats proof of residence and she has the rights of any tenant, on the paperwork or not. As for her word against his; are you suggesting he might lie and say she doesn't live there when she does?
