what was the most ghetto piece of improvised furniture you've ever had (or are currently using)?

my roommate and his cow moved out of our apartment today... while it's great having them gone, they also took the 2 living room couches with them, leaving me with no other seating in the apartment other than my computer chair and the kitchen table chairs. I'm looking for ideas

I'll be moving out myself in 2-3 months, though, so buying a new living room set and lugging it up to my 3rd floor apartment (no elevator) doesn't make sense at this point in time.

fold out camping chairs + the spool from a big roll of cable

edit: almost forgot my old fishtank stand - empty beer keg with a piece of plywood on top and my desk 2'x4' plywood with a piece of wood holding up one side and file cabinet on the other

Sleep on the floor. Preferably after smoking a months pay worth of crack and with the dirtiest ho you can find. Doesn't get any more ghetto than that.

Beat me too it. The milk crate is the single mans single most important peice of furniture, screw IKEA.

The milk crate can be a:

-Nightstand (even a matching pair if you like)
-Coffee table
-Bookcase
-Speaker stands
-Entertainment center (with some plywood of course)

I even had a friend who back in the day made a recliner and couch from milk crates epoxy and a few cushions!

just hit all the thrift stores, I was able to furnish my whole aprtament with half decent stuff

Living Room - NIce recliner couch with matching recliner 100 bucks
Basement Theater room - Nice Pleather Couch and 2 Matching Recliners 150
Dinning Room - old Office Stlye circle table and some chairs 50 bucks
Bedroom - This is prolly the hardest since used bed = gross so I convinced my dad that he didn't need one of his guest beds >
Office - picked up the top of my desk from a surplus Office supply place for 10 bucks (this thing is like 3 ft by 8 ft and ways a ton and is solid wood) then I salavged the legs off my old staples desk to hold it up.
so for 300 bucks I got some nice stuff, and no one knows when they see it that I was such a cheap bastard

its actaully getting fun to see what cool crap I can outfit my apartment with on the cheap

just finished building my projector for the theater room
"broken LCD" - Free
Ebayed Over Head Projector 40 shipped
Home Depot Tileboard - 10 bucks
Paint and masking for screen - 20 bucks
100in HDTV for under 70 bucks - Priceless

you should really check out this stuff:

Screen Goo

You actually paint it on your wall and it works a lot better than a regular white wall because it doesn't absorb the light as much as regular paint. It's around $80 to $100 IIRC and would probably improve your pic quality a good deal.

We had a TV stand made out of 8 cinder blocks and two pieces of plywood. We thought that was slightly better than using an old console TV to put the new TV on.

Cardboard box full of old magazines as a living room chair takes the prize here.
