Ghost in the Shell...WOW!

Ok..I had never seen this movie until last night. I had never even heard of it (am I out of the loop ?). One time I d/l a picture that had "Ghost in the shell" drawn on it, but I didnt know it was a movie. I found it last night at the local Video Store. It ROCKS!!

If you havent seen it....check it out....the DVD looks AWESOME! The sfx and music is also inredible.

Yep. Saw it a long time ago. Very nice anime. One of my all time favorites. You should also try Princess Mononoke.

I agree. First DVD I bought when I got my DVD-ROM for Christmas; great movie.

Edit - and if you liked the movie, check this out.

The manga, or comic, on which the movie was based. The story is a little different, and not always as serious. I think I like this ending more than the movie's ending. Read it and you'll find out why.

Although the animation in GITS is incredible, it still doesn't even come close to Akira (which is coming out on DVD soon ). GITS is good though, I got it on DVD too.

It's quite good, but perhaps a little overly philisophical.
You should definitely track down Princess Mononoke, it's a
great movie with absolutely gorgeous animation.

Its dece but Princess Mono kicks it around. Characters and story, not to mention setting and theme, were that much better in the latter.

I read that ghost in the shell was somewhat of an inspiration for the matrix.

PM is a great movie, too. Then again, I like just about anything by Hayao Miyazaki. His best movie is Nausicaa, IMO. The manga for this movie is incredible, too. Covers things in much more detail than a two-hour movie can.

For series, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, and Tenchi are all great. Lain is good, too, but it's weird. REALLY weird. I love it!
