I'm willing to give him a pass for a missed FG, especially in light of how good he has been earlier this year. My beef isn't with him. Coughlin is to blame, again, by playing not to lose in OT. For God's sake, the Seahawks D was looking winded and on their heels at that point. Take it to 'em. Play for the TD. A pass in the endzone. If you're worried that your guy is going to throw a pick, then he shouldn't be your guy.

That's not true. There's not a QB in the league who hasn't thrown an int. Everyone does. Please tell me why you would take a chance throwing the ball when you are ALREADY IN FG RANGE with a guy who is NEAR PERFECT all year? That's not playing not-to-lose, it's playing smart.
Because Feely's FG range on this day was 40 yards and less. He didn't have it. Besides, Manning was hitting big passes, Shockey was having a monster game, and Barber is always a threat to take it all the way. Nope. Coughlin and Hufnagel didn't play to win, and it cost them big. A win today and the Giants would be atop the NFC. Now. . .who knows what happens from here on.

Your hatred of Coughlin is blinding you. It's irrational to throw the ball in that situation. How do you know what Feely's range was? Because of pre-game warm ups? PLEASE.

After every giant drive in the last 2 mins to overtime, i kept thinking "ive seen too much good giant offense today, something is bound to go wrong" Shockey,buress,manning,barber...just kept making plays. As the defense kept making great plays on the run game. Yet the giants wind up loosing.

Very good point...

And to that I will respond by saying the object of the game of Football is to move the ball. Move the ball far enough and you can get points.

I can't believe the Seahawks came away with a win. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for them because if they win the NFC these are the caliber of opponents they will be facing at home and they can't rely on lucky breaks (ahem missing 3 game-winning field goals)to beat them when the playoffs come. Hopefully Seattle's defense will continue to recover from injuries and their short/quick passing game improves before the playoffs.

They shouldn't have to overcome a phantom touchdown either.

Unless Phil Luckett is doing another Seahahwk game. Ugh.

- the Giants had good defensive pressure from the lineman and linebackers
- or the 'Hawks O-line had a so-so game.
- the Giants should have won that game ... but it was interesting to see the 'Hawks win one like that. Stealing victory from the jaws of defeat.
- or is it the Giants stealing defeat from the jaws of victory?
- on a neutral field the Giants would have won that game.
- the 'Hawks better wake up and stiffen up their D in the big games. Still 9-2 is a great record.

ESPN.com has an article saying that the officials got two giants touchdown passes wrong and they even contacted Seattle about it. I think the missed field goals were nothing more than justice being served.

Yup, the NFL admitted that the Shockey and Toomer TD's should not have counted.

Wrong. According to NFL Vice President of Public relations Greg Aiello, ?Our officiating department never discussed with the Seahawks the Amani Toomer touchdown reception, which was properly called. The Jeremy Shockey touchdown catch at the end of the first half was not overturned, because the referee determined that there was insufficient visual evidence to reverse the call.?

Holmgren's disclosure is being reviewed as a potential violation of league policy, which says that a coach is not allowed to publicly divulge confidential conversations with the officiating department

Bingo! Sounds more like someone didn't like admitting publicly! Even then, Holmgren didn't say anything specific

Oh well, Hawks won, Giants lost, end result is

Uhhh...yea right. Notice "Updated: Nov. 29, 2005, 4:41 PM ET"? Earlier today they were saying just the opposite.

Anyone with 2 eyes who was watching that game knows they were bad calls. Shockey got his clock cleaned before the second foot ever touched down and Toomer's heel was on the line at the back of the end zone. Hell, he never got the second one down before the first one was out of bounds!!!

If the officiating would have called it right, you're looking at a 21 to 6 victory. That fact that Feely missed 3 attempts is flat out justice.

GO HAWKS!!!!!
