As I said in the official Giants thread, the Giants lost in Jetslike fashion.
Because Feely's FG range on this day was 40 yards and less. He didn't have it. Besides, Manning was hitting big passes, Shockey was having a monster game, and Barber is always a threat to take it all the way. Nope. Coughlin and Hufnagel didn't play to win, and it cost them big. A win today and the Giants would be atop the NFC. Now. . .who knows what happens from here on.Originally posted by: ThePresence

Presence, you mention the one kick Feely put deep. In recent weeks he's taken to squibbing the ball on occasion. He has definitely lost some leg strength over the last month. I'm willing to give him a pass for a missed FG, especially in light of how good he has been earlier this year. My beef isn't with him. Coughlin is to blame, again, by playing not to lose in OT. For God's sake, the Seahawks D was looking winded and on their heels at that point. Take it to 'em. Play for the TD. A pass in the endzone. If you're worried that your guy is going to throw a pick, then he shouldn't be your guy.
That's not true. There's not a QB in the league who hasn't thrown an int. Everyone does. Please tell me why you would take a chance throwing the ball when you are ALREADY IN FG RANGE with a guy who is NEAR PERFECT all year? That's not playing not-to-lose, it's playing smart.
Your hatred of Coughlin is blinding you. It's irrational to throw the ball in that situation. How do you know what Feely's range was? Because of pre-game warm ups? PLEASE.Originally posted by: Carbo

Ya this is why i think field goals are pointless. They should not count as game winners in overtime. Awesome job by the entire giants team defensively. After every giant drive in the last 2 mins to overtime, i kept thinking "ive seen too much good giant offense today, something is bound to go wrong" Shockey,buress,manning,barber...just kept making plays. As the defense kept making great plays on the run game. Yet the giants wind up loosing.

ESPN.com has an article saying that the officials got two giants touchdown passes wrong and they even contacted Seattle about it. I think the missed field goals were nothing more than justice being served.
Wrong. According to NFL Vice President of Public relations Greg Aiello, ?Our officiating department never discussed with the Seahawks the Amani Toomer touchdown reception, which was properly called. The Jeremy Shockey touchdown catch at the end of the first half was not overturned, because the referee determined that there was insufficient visual evidence to reverse the call.?Originally posted by: codeyf

Yup, the NFL admitted that the Shockey and Toomer TD's should not have counted.

Holmgren's disclosure is being reviewed as a potential violation of league policy, which says that a coach is not allowed to publicly divulge confidential conversations with the officiating department
Uhhh...yea right. Notice "Updated: Nov. 29, 2005, 4:41 PM ET"? Earlier today they were saying just the opposite.Originally posted by: codeyf
