Ahem. Assuming you bought the camera when it first came out, that's still a decade ago.

Cool watch though.

that does seem like a nice watch. If it weren't so expensive I'd see if I could get one for my sister.

disclaimer: i know jack all about watches and watch valuations. 500-600 seems like a lot to me for a watch so *shrug*

you do realize to issues with your advanced math right? 31 years is much more than a decade ago and it's pretty doubtful I took a digital picture in 1980.

1/1/1980 was the base date for Canon cameras for a while.

Those are older pictures though, I think I posted some here like 5 years ago...

Depends....my wife has watches that were $5000+. I can't see buying one for myself that expensive as I am hard on my jewelry.

My Seiko Coutura was about $375 on sale when it came out.

The Hermes Clipper I bought is not made anymore, it's a pre-owned watch and probably around 30+ years old.

My wife has a couple watches in the $1,500 range. Most expensive watch I own is a Citizen Eco Drive which I think I spent about $250 on. I wore it for a while but I stopped wearing watches a few years ago. Why bother? I carry a cell phone with the time, my computer has a clock in the corner of the screen, and there are clocks on the wall in every department throughout the building. Watches just seem kind of pointless to me. Besides, I hate wearing jewelry of any kind. My wedding band is the only piece of jewelry I wear.

There is a lot said about a nice watch when seen in a business meeting.

It's like any jewelry or fine clothing. Either you get the psychology behind it or not.

No, I get that. I just don't see that it really makes any difference in my daily business dealings. The people I'm dealing with are all internal employees, my work is what they pay attention to, not what kind of watch I have on my wrist. I dress nice, I just don't wear a watch.

The Controller, who my boss reports directly too, and who frequently tasks me with projects wears a 20 year old Movado, the classic black watch with leather strap. Only reason I noticed it was because I bought my wife the women's version of that same watch back in the early 90s. When it comes to accounting, flashiness is not necessarily what you want to portray.

It's funny, the wife of one of my good friends drives a 6-Series BMW, she's a corporate lawyer and he's in finance. Anyway, I was over at his house a few weeks ago, we were having a BBQ and his wife was out of town, so I asked him if he was driving the BMW to work. He said, "Hell no! They'd probably fire me if I showed up driving that car!" He drives a Lexus RX mommy wagon and he already has a nicer car than his boss and the owner of the company.

Well considering many women are already walking around with $5k+ on their finger not such a big deal...

She wears her atomic Baby-G day to day.
