Gigabyte 965p DS3 - Overclocking Q6600 ?

I have the 965p ds3 Rev 1.
It supports the 1066 fsb quads, I'm just wondering if anyone knows how well the quads OC compared to the duals on this board.

The CPU quality aside, does this MOBO (rev1) have more limits with quads.

I'm currently limited to 420 fsb on it due to my memory with a e6300, so just wondering if a quad isn't going to be severely limited by the mobo for a quad upgrade?

Any experiences or links?

As I understand revision 2 made some changes in voltage for quads, so I'm just wondering.

So that is about a 355 FSB, is the CPU the limit there or the board or RAM?

Also why are you still using F4, just curious?

I have had the RAM up to 1100 on an AM2 board, so it is not the RAM per se ..

I have tried upping voltage to 1.45 and going to 3.4 g, but behavior is erratic without
even trying to run Orthos and such ..

I don't feel it's worth the trouble to try to squeeze anything in between .

I have had the FSB stable up to 455 with an E6400 but when I drop the multi to
8 with the Q6600 it won't let me set the FSB manually for some reason.
It just resets to AUTO when I exit the BIOS ..

Also why are you still using F4, just curious?

I'm not one to flash the BIOS unless it addresses some problem I know I am having ...

Well you probably have REV 1 because I don't think F4 came on REV 2.
