Hmmmm I rather get the Powercolor HD5770 512mb for $119 after rebates than this card to be honest. But this is decent for someone looking for a crossfire card that already own the 1GB card.

Lack of competition in that area. Nvidia has nothing to match the 4850 for the price.

I guess so!

I would pony up a little more for a 5 series for crossfire though due to the heat the 4850's can pump out though

Agreed, that's part of the reason i can't part with my HD 4670 HIS IceQ card because of the ultra quiet fan and low power consumption.

I'd like the power of a 4850 or higher, but hardly play many games nowadays, so will wait it out.

those STILL cost that much?

This is the 1GB version - not a bad price at all. The lowest the 512MB version ever got was about $85, while these hovered around $120. Very close in performance to a 5750, and probably a better investment than a 5750 512MB for anything but HTPC use.

Edit: some benchmarks comparing it to a 5750: http://www.anandtech.com/show/2856/10

How does the Gigabyte compare to the Powercolor HD 4850 1gb for $85 AR AC ABing? I passed on the Powercolor after it came back in stock because there's only 1 dvi. I'm tempted with the Gigabyte but I may go for the 5770 posted earlier.

It is not clear from that review whether the 4850 is the 512 mb or 1GB variety. In fact, I haven't been able to find benchmarks comparing the 5750 1GB against the 4850 1GB.

This one is $119 out the door with a promo code:
