Holy moly... I just got my Epox 8RDA+/Tbred "B" setup and I already want to upgrade.

This is bad. But that board is just awesome.

Yea, I just got an 8RDA and Tbred "B". I don't want an upgrade, I want another whole freakin' computer!

Let's differentiate "onboard" versus "integrated." To me, something that is integrated is supported natively by the chipset (with much more bandwidth). Onboard means that there's just the functionality of a PCI card embedded on the motherboard ... and those components make use of the (typically) slower PCI bus. I would assume that SCSI and Serial-ATA RAID are onboard. While having functionality onboard is better than none at all, having that same capability natively in the chipset may be much more impressive.

The ICH5-R supports ATA RAID natively. The SCSI controller is onboard. My point is that people are jumping to the conclusion that the NIC is integrated via the CSA feature, but GB's track record suggests that it's simply on onboard PCI device.

Hmm, I'd never thought of it that way before, but that is a very logical distinction. I shall try to differentiate between the two when I make posts concerning the subject of integrated or onboard components in the future (and btw, SCSI in the northbridge would be friggin awesome!).

Well, it doesn't help that the phot indicates the "integrated" nature of all those wonderful features.
