Gigabyte EP45-UD3P & DDR3?!?

I know the board dosen't officialy support it but I read somewhere that it will work. I overclock and it's for the rig in my sig.
Any suggestions from someone that's done this?

No, the board only supports DDR2.

There is a derivative of the UD3R board that supports DDR3 - the model number is slightly different.

There is no DDR2/DDR3 comparability though.

Don't you mean compatibility? You can't stick a DDR3 stick in a DDR2 slot. Doesn't fit and isn't electrically compatible (pins, etc)

And yes, the EP45T-UD3P supported DDR3 instead of DDR2.

In another thread someone said that AIDA system info utility reported their Gigabyte P45 board as supporting DDR3 but it didn't. It happens. I've seen SiSoft Sandra give erroneous info a hundred times.
