GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P & Gsata ports

I am a rookie on my 2nd build. Did one 3 years ago with a little help. Now on my own on this one. Antec 900 case and Antec power supply. The cables look like the P16, P17, P18 are for the dvd's. I have 2 WD Black 640gb drives hooked up to the sata0 & sata1 connectors.
I have a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P and want to hook-up 2 DVD BURNER SAMSUNG | SH-S223L to the motherboard. Can I use the 2 purple GSATA connectors. If not where do I hook up the 2 sata dvd's.

The puple connectors are for hardrives only when doing raid.

Just use 2 of the other sata connectors for the dvd drives.

If I have the 2 hard drives on sata0 and sata 1 is it ok to put the 2 dvd's on sata 2 and sata 3 ?

you can put them anywhere. the only thing is the purple ports (gigabyte SATA controller) are slower than the Intel ones. So ideally you wouldn't want to put a hard drive there. If you are short on ports then move the DVD drives to the purple. But since you only have 2 hard drive and 2 DVD drives you can put them all on Intel ports, and thats perfectly fine.

The 2 purple SATA ports run off the JMicron controller, and are more typically: set for AHCI mode in bios setup & utilized for eSATA using the eSATA bracket. Optionally can be set and used for internal IDE mode, AHCI mode or Raid mode drives.
The single 40-pin IDE port is also run off the JMicron controller chip.
For SATA optical drives, connect those to the 2 highest-numbered Intel SATA ports (black #4 & #5).
Note: if the Intel controller is set for either: Raid or AHCI, the optical drive may only remain bootable if identified by exact brand and model # in the bios setup.

Note: Windows installation may also require use of the F6 "add controller driver" via floppy or USB flash drive (if the bios has been set for Raid or AHCI mode). XP only allows the floppy drive as the source of the driver.
