For some reason alot of people are having alot of issues!

As with alot of mobos, some brands of ram just will not work with certain mobos!
It doesn`t matter if you have used it with other mobo`s in the past!!

After reading this entire thread alot of the issues are user caused issues!

Read your documentation!

Then follow directions to the letter!

Don`t just do something becuase it worked with another mobo and therefore should work with this mobo!!

I have nothing but respect for the gigabyte tech support personnel as well as the gigabyte products!

I have never had issues with there products!!

I, for one, don't have any problem with 3 sticks of double sided ram on K8NS Pro with F11 BIOS. The F10 got some problem with my 6600GT and F4 don't support 3 sticks but F11 does it nicely. One thing, however is that they removed 3:4 divider (150 divider). The questions I want to ask is, are there anyone out there having trouble overclocking? My K8NS Pro will not complete POST if I put HT above 259, while it works perfectly at 258 (133 ram divider, 48 degrees, 1x HTT). Does the bios put a limit or is it my CPU?

Well my k8ns pro finally gave out....it refuses to post, unless I clear the cmos and move the 2x512MB sticks to different slots. It will stay up once I get it to post...but this is ridiculous, I have never had this problem with other boards. Im getting this thing RMAed and gonna try to sell it to someone.

As you can see from my signature I am running the F9 Bios and have OC'd the chip to 2200 and memory is at 220mhz. I guess I should feel lucky to be at or above 200 for two sticks of 512. I however am considering going down to 166 on the ram to achieve a higher clock speed. I have tried numerous times to press ctrl + F1 to get to advanced option but a useless screen with F2-F9 values comes up. What am I doing wrong?? Is there another way to get to 166mhz. It must piss alot of you off to be trying to get your ram to run at 200 and I am wanting to go the other way. Would it help me to reduce the multiplier from 10 to 9?? sorry for the newbness

Just did. It's a bust for me.
Broke memory timing with my 2 sticks of OCZ-EL 512 DDR400. Neither of the following works any more: my fallback 1:1 timing (200 MHz) when not overclocking and my main setting of 4:5 with overclocking (225 MHz).

I'm back to F9 running at 225 MHz with 4:5 memory clock (176 MHz).

Huh, you have a lot of problems.
Im running on F9 BIOS whit no problem (well except RAM problem. Two sticks; no 1:1 timing)
But I manage to OC it good after 2 months of playing whit CPU burning.
NewCasttle 3000+
512 Crucial Ballistix
OC: 293*9= 2637MHz (1.65V);LTD 3x; RAM 233MHz at 2.5-2-2-7 (mem.clk. 166)
880 HT is maximum. F**k it. I belive I could go even further whit FSB

Hey, I've been having issues too with 2 512mb sticks in the K8NS-Pro. It was working fine for months, but recently would freeze in games, then in windows, then as soon as Windows would boot up. Removing either stick works, and after reading this, lowering the clock to 166 works with both... sort of. It works as in it won't crash, but now neither the system nor windows detects more than 256 MB, and it definitely shows. (Try running HL2 on 256MB of memory and you'll see what I mean.) If I just use 1 stick it recognizes it at 512MB as it should.

Why is it halfing my memory when it should be doubling it? Bizarre.

Quick question on overclocking with this MB.
I thought that when you overclocked by increasing the CPU clock you also increased the PCI and AGP speeds because they are derived from the same clock. But, Gigabyte's EasyTune doesn't show this to be the case?

SO, my question is... is EasyTune correct or am I also raising my PCI bus clock by the same ratio as I'm rasing the CPU clock?

Thanks

Im currently runnin the K8NS Pro board as well i have updated bios to F12 and still having problems runnin more than 1 stick of ram and ive tried all different slot combinations. Im runnin 1x512 card and 2x256 cards ive also tried runnin just 1x512 card and 1x256 card with no luck. I did however get it to run with all 3 cards at 156MHZ which still isnt DDR400 speeds. Im seriously thinkin bout returning this motherboard now. If anyone has had success with runnin more than 1 ram card at 200MHZ please post how you did it cause as of this point im stumped.

1. return the MB. It's garbage.
2. the f9 bios was the only one that worked well for me memory-wise.

I was currently running the F13 bios and got it to run stable with 1x512mb card and 1x256mb card at 200mhz but it just crapped out on me today so i am fed up and returning the board.......now im just stumped as to which other board with the Nforce 3 chipset to buy because i dont want to get another dud. I need a board that will do over 300HTT and still be able to run 2x512mb cards at 200mhz. I was thinking about going with the DFI Lanparty board. If anyone has any suggestions id appreciate them.

I've come back after a few months to see how this 2 x 512MB RAM not working at 200MHz issued is going with the K8NS Pro.

I see now that I wasn't the only one with the problem.
I made several post several months back about this in this thread and Here but found no resolution.

I ended up buying another mobo mainly out of frustration, the DFI Lanparty nF3 250Gb. Strangely enough, I am having similar problems and have been running it with only 1 x 512 MB RAM. As they are both nForce3 chipsets, perhaps it is related to the chipset limitations.

I will be attempting to get 2 x 512MB RAM working on the DFI and if I rememebr will let you know how I go. Email me here if u want.
