Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI and Maxtor NCQ drive

Yo,
alright, I'm having a devil of a time getting this drive working properly on my Gigabyte board.

My OS drive is a RAID 0 36 GB Raptor array. Those work fine.

If I try plugging the Maxtor into the nvidia SATA ports, sometimes it boots, but I haven't made it into Windows yet (blue screen). Other times it boots super slowly, taking forever to POST, and other times it won't finish POSTing. So obviously it ain't working right now. I have the latest F6 BIOS, it came with that.

So then I tried plugging it into a Silicon Image SATA port. That was an ordeal. First of all, the manual keeps referring to a SiL BIOS screen where you can hit F4 to configure. I never see this screen anywhere and I've looked everywhere in the BIOS for a way to enable it. But there's another way to configure it. Once in Windows, you can actually load up a software RAID utility, and from there if you set the drive up as a single JBOD disk, then Windows will recognize it. Pretty damn weird if you ask me.

Anyone had better success with this?

Oh, and does anyone know if the SiL ports lock when overclocking? If not, then it's kind of pointless to use them.

have you updated to 6.39 nforce driver? (I wouldn't install the ethernet portion however...)

Yes. Made no difference. This is a BIOS issue anyway, I have trouble POSTing sometimes.
